Yesterday marks the day of appreciation for our farm workers. 🥳👩‍🌾🌾

Let us show gratitude to the laborers who works under the glazing sun and extreme weathers. Without them, we would not have food in our tables. It is important that we acknowledge our agricultural workers as they play a critical role in our economy and in sustainable food systems, ensuring enough food for the nation and for more generations to come. ✨🍛

Innovation meets agriculture as AGSI students transform locally grown produce into market-ready products!

As part of the final course requirement in Agricultural Entrepreneurship under Ms. Pales, agriculture students collaborated with Project SILI, headed by Mr. Montebon, to develop value-added products using fresh chili peppers harvested from the project.

Through this hands-on learning activity, the B16 students applied concepts in product development, food processing, packaging, branding, and agripreneurship by creating innovative chili-based products such as Chili Sinapak, Hot-Peanut!, and other value-added food products.

Several of these products were also showcased during the Project SILI Community Extension Activity held on July 9, 2026, where students enrolled in the Agricultural Extension course under Mr. Edisa trained community beneficiaries on proper chili processing techniques and the production of value-added products.

This collaborative initiative demonstrates how agricultural production, entrepreneurship, extension, and community engagement can work together to create meaningful learning experiences while promoting livelihood opportunities and value addition to locally produced agricultural commodities.

The Agrivet Sciences Institute (AgSI) proudly welcomed Mr. Antonio Alinea of Ateneo de Manila University Junior High School to Salikneta Farm for the successful orientation of the upcoming SY 2026–2027 DANAS Tour last July 30, 2026.

The orientation highlighted the collaborative partnership between Ateneo de Manila University JHS and AgSI in providing meaningful, experiential learning opportunities for students. The planned tour activities will be integrated into AgSI's Service Learning (SL) initiatives and aligned with the intended learning outcomes and course syllabi of the participating subjects, fostering a stronger connection between academic learning and real-world agricultural experiences.

Thank you, Mr. Antonio Alinea, for your commitment to strengthening this partnership. We look forward to a successful and enriching DANAS Tour for the students of Ateneo de Manila University Junior High School.

Oral Defense | Jul 30- Aug 2, 2026

Congratulations to the Batch 15 Agriculture students on the successful completion of their Pre-Oral Defense! Your dedication, hard work, and commitment to research have brought you one step closer to achieving your academic goals.

We also extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mr. Francis Owen Winffotter for successfully defending his Major Field Practice during his Final Oral Defense under the guidance of his adviser, Dr. Dante Lorenzo. We commend his dedication, perseverance, and commitment throughout this academic milestone. May this achievement inspire continued excellence in his future endeavors.

Our sincere appreciation goes to all the research advisers, panel members, and faculty who shared their expertise and support throughout the defense process. Wishing all our student researchers continued success as they complete the final stages of their academic journey.

On July 30, 2026, Mr. Montebon, Mr. Gravidez, and Dr. Rosario successfully delivered their respective presentations to the Agriculture students at the Conference Room, Salikneta Farm.

The presentations were conducted as part of the requirements for the doctoral course under Dr. Dante. The activity provided an opportunity to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and engage with the students while fulfilling an important academic requirement in their doctoral studies.

Thank you to the Agriculture students for their active participation and support in making the activity a success.
