ACADEMIC MILESTONE | 4TH-YEAR BS AGRICULTURE STUDENTS COMPLETE THESIS DEFENSE

On September 12, 2026, four (4) fourth-year BS Agriculture students namely:

Shania Angela Pagatpatan
Helenee Darren Solquia
Jomarry Taylaran
Francine Ann Pel

successfully presented and defended their undergraduate thesis research before the thesis defense committee.

The defense was chaired by Mr. Elmer C. Montebon, with Ms. Sheva Joy Pales and Mr. Rhio R. Edisa serving as panel members. The students were guided by their research advisers, Mr. Alangelico San Pascual and Ms. Emmie Marie Rosales.

The thesis defense marks an important stage in the students’ academic journey, providing an opportunity to present their research, respond to scholarly questions, and further improve their work based on the recommendations of the panel.

Congratulations to our fourth-year Agriculture students on reaching this important milestone!

STUDENT DEVELOPMENT | BS AGRICULTURE STUDENTS EXCEL IN BIOTECHNOLOGY INNOVATION FORUM

The Agrivet Sciences Institute congratulates BS Agriculture students John Kenneth Ylagan, Regina Mendoza, and Bernadette Rebueno for their participation in the Youth and Students Forum on Biotechnology Innovation held on August 27, 2026.

The forum provided students with an opportunity to strengthen their knowledge of biotechnology, explore emerging innovations, and showcase their research ideas through a research proposal pitching activity.

🏆 Regina Mendoza’s group placed 1st in the research proposal pitching activity.

🥈 John Kenneth Ylagan’s group placed 2nd with their proposal entitled:

The participation and accomplishments of our students reflect their growing capacity to apply agricultural knowledge, research, and innovation in addressing contemporary challenges in agriculture and biotechnology.

A big congratulations to our beloved Salikneta farm manager, also an alumnus of AGSI from Batch 1, 𝙈𝙧. 𝙍𝙞𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝘽𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙨, 𝙈𝙎, 𝙍𝘼𝙜𝙧, for completing his master's with the thesis entitled "Effect of Turmeric (Cucurma longa) and Oregano (Origanum vulgare) Powder Supplementation on Growth Performance, Hematological Profile, and Gut Morphology of Super Harco Chicken."

Beyond this remarkable academic success, we celebrate his years of service—leading with wisdom, nurturing our farm, and inspiring us through his guidance and support. It is evident in his work and his commitment to the DLSAU and Salikneta community that his hard work truly paid off. We are very proud of you for achieving this.
