On August 24, 2026, the College of Saint Anthony – Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants (CSA-JPIA) went to P&A Grant Thornton in Makati City for a firm visit and to sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), officially sealing the partnership between CSA-HED and P&A Grant Thornton for student internship opportunities.

The visit began with Mr. JG Gerez, Academic Sponsorship & Pipeline Specialist, who introduced the Anthonians to the firm’s programs and opportunities—from competitions and scholarship grants to internships. His presentation gave students a glimpse of the possibilities awaiting them as they prepare to enter the accounting profession.

A highlight of the day was the MOA signing, with CSA-HED Lecturer, Mr. Richard Ibarra, CPA, MBA, who also serves as Tax Director at P&A Grant Thornton, joining the occasion. Since 2022, Mr. Ibarra has generously shared his professional expertise and provided valuable guidance to CSA students, helping prepare and inspire the next generation of accounting professionals. CSA representatives also took part in the signing, marking another significant milestone in strengthening the institution’s ties with the industry.

The visit concluded with a tour of the firm, giving the students a closer look at the professional environment and the people behind one of the country’s respected accounting firms.

More than an industry visit, the experience gave our Anthonians a chance to dream bigger, work harder, and set their sights on becoming future Certified Public Accountants. They were challenged to prepare themselves for the CPA Licensure Examination (CPALE) and to pursue their goals with discipline, determination, and excellence.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Mr. Richard Ibarra, Sir JG, and the entire P&A Grant Thornton community for the warm welcome, gracious hospitality, and opportunities extended to our students.
