In support of the Criminology Week celebration held from November 7 to 9, our fraternity undertook a community-oriented initiative by distributing bottled water to Criminology students and event participants. This activity was conducted as part of our commitment to fostering solidarity, service, and mutual support within the academic community. Through this simple yet meaningful gesture, the fraternity aimed to contribute to the success of the event and to uphold the values of brotherhood, cooperation, and public service that define our organization.

For everyone’s information: The true meaning of the AKP sign is “I LOVE YOU.” We only adopted it as a symbol identifying us as members of Alpha Kappa Rho.

So just because you see someone—especially celebrities, famous personalities, or public figures—making that sign, doesn’t automatically mean they are our brothers or sisters in the fraternity. We tend to claim them as such without any solid proof. Find out first what chapter they belong to, who their Grand Skeptron is, and what batch they’re from. The problem with us is that we’re too easily convinced or deceived.

Let us initiate reform and establish a unified set of laws and standards that will be strictly implemented across all sectors — alumni, collegiate, council, and community-based chapters. Membership must be carefully screened, ensuring that only those who can uphold and bring honour to the fraternity are accepted, rather than those who might damage the name and reputation of Alpha Kappa Rho.

It becomes difficult to enforce discipline when some members refuse to follow the rules, lack understanding, or create internal conflicts within the group. Being part of a community chapter should not mean that anyone can automatically be accepted, especially out-of-school youth or minors. Many of them are already struggling in their personal lives — how can they be expected to sustain chapter funds or contribute to community projects? Naturally, their priority would be their own needs and families.

Recruitment efforts should instead focus on college students, those who have jobs, businesses, or are stable in life. as they are the ones who can strengthen and elevate the chapters they join. Once they succeed in their studies and future careers, they will become the true pillars and representatives of the fraternity’s ideals.

Dress formally at a meeting — it reflects professionalism and respect for your organisation.
