ほんとうに？😳😳
(Hontou ni?) — Really?

「ほんとうに？」 is used when someone tells you something surprising, unbelievable, or unexpected, and you want to ask “Really?” or “Are you serious?” 😳

For example:
Your friend says that her crush rejected her after she confessed (ouch😭).

ほんとうに？？😨😨
(Hontou ni??) - reallyy???

You can also use it when someone tells you some shocking news,information or says something that sounds crazy to be true.😵‍💫

For example:
Your friend: i won the lottery!!!🤑🤑🤑

ほんとうに!?😳😳
(Hontou ni!?) - REALLYYY!??😳

Or when someone tells you something exciting🥰:

Friend: yo there's no school tomorrow!

ほんとうに!???
(Hounto ni!??) - REALLYY?!!

The way you say ほんとうに? Can also change the feeling. A normal ほんとうに？ sounds curious, while ほんとうに！？can sounds more shocked.😳😳

So, if you really cant believe what your friends, family, or even strangers told you,
Just say:
ほんとうに？💖

Reading and writing are important skills that help students express their ideas, understand information, and communicate with confidence. Through 𝓨𝓞𝓜𝓘𝓚𝓐𝓚𝓘 (読み書き), students can practice reading Japanese characters and writing them correctly while improving their vocabulary and understanding of the Japanese language.

🎯 Objectives:
• To improve students’ reading and writing skills in Japanese.
• To help students recognize and understand Japanese characters and words.
• To develop proper writing, spelling, and pronunciation.
• To build students’ confidence in using the Japanese language.
• To encourage consistent practice and appreciation of Japanese culture and language.

🌱 Goal:
Students should be able to read and write basic Japanese words and characters accurately and confidently, while gradually expanding their vocabulary and communication skills through regular practice.

🇯🇵 || NIHONGO BASICS #1: “すみません” (“Excuse me”, “I'm sorry”, or “Thank you”?)

あ、すみません! Wait, wait; do you mean "excuse me"? Or maybe you're apologizing for bumping into someone accidentally? Or to show gratitude for someone who went out of their way to help you? 🤔
Well, “すみません” is a go-to response!

In everyday life, Japanese people use “すみません” differently, depending on the situation at hand. 😉

• They say “すみません!” when catching a waiter's attention. In English, it would sound like; "Excuse me!” 🛎️

• They also say “ すみません/すみませんでした.” when expressing their apology for accidentally bumping into someone, or when added with “~でした”, they are looking back from their actions/wrapping up an apology. In English, it can sound like; “I'm sorry” or “I am deeply sorry.” 🙂‍↕️

• Or they use “すみません...” as a way to say "thank you" to someone who went out of their way and helped them, expressing both thankfulness and sorry for the bother. In English, you may hear it like; “I'm very sorry for the trouble.” or “Thank you, I'm sorry for the bother.” 🤗

So, the next time you use “すみません”, you can express multiple feelings at once like a fluent Japanese! Oh, and すみません for the short bother of this post~ 😇
