SIMPLE WAYS TO GET PERCENTAGE
Basic formula
Percentage = (Part ÷ Whole) × 100
Example:
20 out of 50
(20 ÷ 50) × 100 = 40%
Find X% of a number
(Number × Percentage) ÷ 100
Example:
25% of 200
(200 × 25) ÷ 100 = 50
Increase by a percentage
New value = Original + (Original × % ÷ 100)
Example:
Increase 100 by 10%
100 + (100 × 10 ÷ 100) = 110
Decrease by a percentage
New value = Original − (Original × % ÷ 100)
Example:
