๐ข EMPOWERING THE YOUTH THROUGH PROJECT P.A.G.G.I.Y.A.
Lawigan National High School successfully hosted the Project P.A.G.G.I.Y.A. (Promoting Awareness, Good Character, Growth in Leadership, Integrity, Youth Empowerment, and Accountability) Symposium in partnership with the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) and the Municipality of San Joaquin Police Station, August 5, 2026
The symposium equipped our learners with valuable knowledge on teenage pregnancy prevention, values formation, crime prevention, and emergency preparedness. Through engaging discussions, students were encouraged to make informed and responsible decisions, uphold strong moral values, and become responsible members of their families and communities.
A significant part of the symposium emphasized the importance of values formation, reminding students that integrity, discipline, respect, and accountability are essential in making wise life choices and resisting negative influences. The session on teenage pregnancy highlighted its social, emotional, educational, and economic impacts, inspiring learners to prioritize their education, safeguard their future, and make responsible decisions.
Students also learned the proper actions to take during emergency situations, including when and how to contact the Dial Unified 911 Emergency Hotline, empowering them to respond appropriately during accidents, crimes, fires, medical emergencies, and disasters. These life-saving lessons reinforced the importance of staying calm, acting responsibly, and seeking immediate assistance when needed.
Lawigan National High School extends its sincere appreciation to the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) headed by PLTCOL Shiela Marie Sardoma and the Municipality of San Joaquin Police Station headed by PCPT Marilon P. Asparo and Civic volunteers for their dedication and unwavering commitment to educating and empowering our youth. PMAJ Bryan I. Alamo talked on how to respond in case of shooting incidents.
Through collaborative initiatives like Project P.A.G.G.I.Y.A., we continue to nurture well-informed, value-driven, and resilient learners who are prepared to become responsible citizens and future leaders.
Together, we guide today's youth toward a safer, brighter, and more responsible tomorrow.
