🌿 CLEAN-UP DRIVE FOR A SAFER, CLEANER COMMUNITY 🌿

This morning, from 8:00–10:00 AM, our school community came together for a meaningful Clean-Up Drive at Sitio Baras, Brgy. Matungao, San Isidro, Leyte.

With the joint effort of our Grade 4–6 pupils, BSP & GSP members, SELG officers, teachers, parents, GPTA officials, Brgy. Officials and our SK Chairman, we cleaned the roadside area that has become narrow due to overgrown grass and piles of dry leaves. These leaves were causing rainwater to accumulate, creating algae and making the road slippery and unsafe.

✨ Through this activity, we aimed to promote environmental awareness, inspire responsible waste management, and strengthen our community bonds—one small action at a time.

One of today’s highlights was our parade and the active presence of our GPTA President, SK Chairman, and Barangay Officials who showed their full support.

Special thanks to our GPTA President, Mr Lyndon Abe and family, for sponsoring snacks for all participants! 💚

Our pupils were excited, proud, and truly enjoyed contributing to a safer and cleaner community. Their smiles and teamwork made the morning even brighter. 🌞

Together, we are proving that when a community unites, positive change becomes possible. 🌍💛

Your support to our Kindergarten and grade I learners has been a great help in providing delicious food and gifts to our children, and we appreciate your kindness and generosity. Matungao Elementary School successfully held its Second Portfolio Day on November 14, 2025, bringing together teachers, parents, learners, and stakeholders in a meaningful gathering that highlighted learner progress and school achievements.

The event opened with inspiring messages and important school updates, followed by discussions on enrollment requirements, school policies, DepEd programs, and the new class schedule for each grade level. Awards and certificates were also given to honor our learners’ efforts and to recognize our EVRAA qualifier, showcasing the talent and dedication present in our school community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to District Head, Mrs. Julieta Ocubillo Asuero , GPTA President, Mr. Lyndon Abe , and our Barangay Officials for taking the time to join us and support our school activities. Your presence strengthens our shared commitment to quality education and holistic learner development.

To our dear parents, thank you so much.

Today, our budding photojournalists from Matungao Elementary School embarked on a new journey.

Despite being beginners and the heat of the sun, we learned, we laughed, and we captured the essence of our town. It was an amazing master class that brought us closer to the art of storytelling through images.

We are honored to recognize our talented athletes who brought pride to our school as Silver and Bronze medalists in the recent Sepak Takraw competition in EVRAA 2025. Their hard work, discipline, and dedication truly reflect the spirit of excellence we uphold.

This proud moment was made even more special as we welcomed the school heads from various schools in San Isidro II District during their visit, headed by our District Head, Mrs. Julieta O. Asuero.
