The University Research, Extension, Production, and Development Office successfully conducted the Search for the Best Student Researcher for Academic Year 2025–2026 today via Zoom, showcasing the exemplary research capabilities, innovation, and scholarly excellence of students across the University.

The competition featured two major categories: Experimental Research and Social Research, with a total of twelve (12) research entries representing various colleges and institutes.

🏆 𝗕𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿 – 𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵
🥇 𝗠𝗿. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸 𝗘𝘂𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗲 𝗦. 𝗠𝗮𝗿iñ𝗮𝘀, a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE) student from the College of Engineering and Technology, emerged as the Best Student Researcher in the Experimental Research Category for his outstanding study entitled, "𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝘆𝗱𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗨𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴-𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗜𝗼𝗧 𝗦𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺."

The Experimental Research Category featured seven (7) research studies from the Institute of Veterinary Medicine, College of Agriculture, College of Engineering and Technology, Institute of Computer Studies, and DRT Campus. The entries covered diverse fields including animal science, veterinary medicine, horticulture, agricultural engineering, food technology, information systems, and agroforestry.

The Experimental Research Category was evaluated by a distinguished panel of experts composed of Engr. Julius L. De Villa, Assistant Professor IV from Central Bicol State University of Agriculture; Ms. Angelli Miranda Llorando, DOST-SEI Career Incentive Program Fellow from the Center for Tropical Mushroom Research and Development, Central Luzon State University; and Mr. Marco Felix Sangco Valdez, DOST-SEI Career Incentive Program Fellow, Top 6 Passer of the 2021 Licensure Examination for Agriculturists, and Assistant Professor II from the College of Agriculture, New Era University.

Perez, Bachelor of Science in Development Communication students from the Institute of Arts and Sciences, declared as the Best Student Researcher in the Social Research Category for their study entitled, "𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘀𝗶𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘃𝘀. The Social Research Category showcased five (5) research studies from the College of Management, Institute of Arts and Sciences, and College of Education. The presented studies explored significant contemporary issues including agribusiness development, LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurship, post-harvest technology adoption, media consumption, family communication patterns, and innovative educational interventions utilizing artificial intelligence.

Serving as evaluators for the category were Dr. Jazmin Joy E. Dizon, Department Head of Psychology and Human Services, College of Arts and Sciences at Tarlac State University; Dr. Clareziel Digamon Ladringan, Dean of the College of Tourism, Hospitality, and Hotel Management, Cebu Normal University; and Dr. Ken G. Calang, Chair, Department of Global Studies, College of Arts and Social Sciences, Central Luzon State University.
