𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐀𝐇𝐈𝐍 | Patuloy na pinalalakas ng Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) ang paghahanda ng mga lingkod-bayan para sa Civil Service Examination.

Sa pamamagitan ng extension project na 𝐀𝐁𝐂𝐃𝐄: 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐥 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐃𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, muling nagsagawa ang BASC ng serye ng mga review sessions para sa mga kawani ng Pamahalaang Bayan ng Balagtas, Bulacan simula noong Hulyo 9, 2026. Ang mga pagsasanay na ito ay pagpapatuloy ng unang batch ng review sessions na isinagawa noong Pebrero 2026, bilang bahagi ng mas komprehensibong paghahanda ng mga kalahok para sa nalalapit na pagsusulit.

Tinalakay sa programa ang mahahalagang paksa sa Civil Service Examination, kabilang ang 1987 Konstitusyon ng Pilipinas, Republic Act No. 6713 o ang 𝘊𝘰𝘥𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘗𝘶𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤 𝘖𝘧𝘧𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘢𝘭𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘰𝘺𝘦𝘦𝘴, at Bokabularyo.Nagsagawa rin ng pre-test at post-test upang masukat ang kaalaman ng mga kalahok at matukoy ang kanilang pag-unlad matapos ang mga sesyon.

Sa pangunguna ng Institute of Arts and Sciences (IAS) at ng ABCDE Project Management Team, nananatiling katuwang ang BASC ng mga lokal na pamahalaan sa pagtataguyod ng mahusay, tapat, at propesyonal na serbisyo publiko sa pamamagitan ng mga makabuluhang programang pang-ekstensyon.

Farmer-beneficiaries of the Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) extension project "𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 𝒐𝒇 𝑫𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒆𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑰𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑹𝒊𝒄𝒆-𝒃𝒂𝒔𝒆𝒅 𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎 (𝑷𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒚𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒏) 𝒊𝒏 𝑼𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑹𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒇𝒆𝒅 𝑨𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝑪𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒍 𝑳𝒖𝒛𝒐𝒏" received financial assistance through a roll-over scheme conducted by its Project Management Team, on July 9, 2026, at the Farmers' Information and Technology Services Center, San Rafael, Bulacan.

Under the program, 15 farmer-beneficiaries each received a ₱10,000 loan to support their farming activities. Free vegetable seeds were likewise distributed to further encourage the adoption of diversified and integrated rice-based farming technologies.

The activity was spearheaded by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐨𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐒. 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐚, project leader, with the assistance of project members, 𝐌𝐬. 𝐀𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞 𝐒. 𝐌𝐜𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐭 and 𝐌𝐬. 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐲𝐧 𝐐. 𝐀𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚. 𝐃𝐫. 𝐈𝐦𝐞𝐥𝐝𝐚 𝐒. 𝐀. 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐨, retired BASC professor and former project leader, also attended the activity in support of the project.

The financial assistance distribution was carried out in collaboration with Municipal Agriculture Office, led by 𝐌𝐬. 𝐑𝐞𝐚 𝐉𝐨𝐲 𝐏. 𝐂𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐧, Municipal Agriculturist of San Rafael, Bulacan, reflecting the continuing partnership between BASC and the local government in advancing sustainable agricultural development.

The roll-over scheme is one of the project's continuing initiatives to provide farmer-beneficiaries with access to financial resources while promoting sustainable and diversified farming systems in upland and rainfed communities in Central Luzon.

𝐑𝐄𝐀𝐃 | Two newly-approved quick response projects of Bulacan Agricultural State College under the 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢-𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐚 𝐋𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐆𝐨𝐚𝐥𝐬 (𝐆𝐀𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆) 𝐏𝐂𝐀𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐃 𝐊𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐊𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐬 (𝐆𝐏𝐊𝐊) 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 were officially launched yesterday, June 22, 2026, coinciding the 15th Anniversary Celebration of DOST-PCAARRD.

GALING-PCAARRD GPKK Program is a proactive platform for delivering AANR science and technology innovations to communities all over the country.

𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐇. 𝐓𝐚𝐧, BASC President, together with the project team of the two DOST-PCAARRD-funded extension projects led by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐈𝐦𝐞𝐞 𝐃. 𝐄𝐬𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐚, Director for Extension Services, and 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐣𝐢𝐞 𝐂. 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐠, Director of the Palayamanan R&D Center joined the virtual signing of the Statement of Cooperation between DOST-PCAARRD and other partner institutions to ensure the successful implementation of GPKK Program.

Dr. Esguerra wil lead the team who will implement "𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 (𝐆𝐑𝐎𝐖) 𝐀𝐦𝐢𝐝𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐬", which aims to help the crisis-affected marginalized households in the community.

On the other hand, Engr. Timbang will lead "𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞-𝐁𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐋𝐨𝐨𝐩 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐀𝐒𝐂-𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐮𝐛 (𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐀𝐆𝐑𝐈-𝐋𝐈𝐅𝐄𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐄)", which seeks to transform the BASC Palayamanan R&D Production Hub into a science-based, crisis-responsive food system that promotes food security and disaster resilience among marginalized families across various municipalities in Bulacan.

Under this program, BASC was able to secure ₱9.5 Million worth of funding support from DOST-PCAARRD for the implementation of the two projects starting this July 2026.

The activity aims to enhance the capacity of the Rural Improvement Club (RIC) members of Barangay Bulusukan in developing a strong product identity and effectively promoting their donut products through logo creation and social media management. Specifically, the training seeks to improve their ability to present, market, and differentiate their products while strengthening group identity and confidence toward enterprise development.

The program begins with the arrival and registration of participants facilitated by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗶𝘀𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗦. 𝗠𝗰𝗡𝗮𝘁𝘁,together with a photo opportunity at the BASC Grounds, courtesy call, Palayamanan site visit, and Food Innovation Center site visit coordinated by the concerned offices and units of the institution.

The opening program includes the opening prayer and national anthem led by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗥𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗣. 𝗣𝗮𝗴𝗱𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻, followed by the welcome remarks delivered by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗜𝗺𝗲𝗲 𝗗. 𝗘𝘀𝗴𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮, Director of the Extension Services Office. The introduction of the training objectives is presented by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲 𝗕. 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗮, Project Leader, while the introduction of the resource speaker is conducted by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗦𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗶𝗱 𝗔𝗻𝗻 𝗩. 𝗝𝗮𝗼.

A pre-test is being administered by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹 𝗔. 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗼𝗻, Project Member, prior to the start of the learning sessions. Participants are also attending a VMGO session facilitated by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻 𝗧. 𝗔𝗹𝗼𝗻𝘇𝗼.

The afternoon session features discussions on Social Media Marketing and Logo Making facilitated by resource speaker 𝗗𝗿. 𝗕𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗝𝗼𝗲 𝗩. 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗮, followed by a session on Basic Intellectual Property: Concepts and Processes conducted by 𝗠𝘀. 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻 𝗖. 𝗪𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻-𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗮.

The activity also includes the administration of the post-test and awarding of certificates facilitated by Ms. Anabel A. Alayon, while the training evaluation is being handled by the Project Management Team. The program concludes with the closing remarks delivered by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗼 𝗚. 𝗕𝘂𝗲𝗻𝗮𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮.

𝗠𝗔𝗬 𝟬𝟲, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | Farmers from various municipalities in Bulacan gathered at the Bulacan Agricultural State College (BASC) Rene Cayetano Hall for the 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗻 𝗜𝘁𝗶𝗸𝗣𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, conducted under the externally funded project “𝘼𝙙𝙫𝙖𝙣𝙘𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙎𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝘿𝙪𝙘𝙠 𝙀𝙜𝙜 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙙𝙪𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙞𝙣 𝘽𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙖𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙄𝙩𝙞𝙠𝙋𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙨 𝙏𝙚𝙘𝙝𝙣𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙮 𝙋𝙧𝙤𝙢𝙤𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙐𝙩𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙯𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣”, funded by the DBM–CLAARRDEC.

The activity brought together participants from Pandi, Baliwag City, San Rafael, San Miguel, and San Ildefonso, Bulacan to strengthen their knowledge and technical skills in sustainable duck production using ItikPinas technology. The training aimed to support farming communities by promoting improved production practices, enhancing livelihood opportunities, and increasing awareness of duck farming as a viable enterprise.

The program formally opened with welcome remarks from 𝗗𝗿. 𝗛𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘆𝗹𝗲𝘁 𝗝. 𝗡𝗶𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗮𝘀, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Product Development (REPD), followed by a message from 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝗘. 𝗕𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮, Director of the University Extension Program Office of Central Luzon State University (CLSU). An overview of the training, including its objectives and expected outputs, was presented by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗮 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗦. 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮, Project Leader.

Serving as resource speaker, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘆𝗼, Assistant Professor III, facilitated the technical sessions focusing on the Philippine situation of the mallard duck industry and the characteristics and benefits of raising ItikPinas. Discussions also covered housing systems, care and management of ducklings, growers, and layers, feeding management, health and nutrition, biosecurity measures, egg collection, and basic recordkeeping.

Representatives from CLAARRDEC, namely 𝗗𝗿. 𝗔𝗹𝗱𝗿𝗶𝗻 𝗘. 𝗕𝗮𝗱𝘂𝗮, 𝗠𝗿. 𝗔𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗼 𝗖. 𝗟𝗮𝗴𝗮𝘀𝗰𝗮, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗥𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗶𝗯𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼, and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗜𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗴𝘂𝗲, also participated in the activity and assisted in addressing participants’ questions and concerns during the open forum.

Beyond lectures, the activity provided a venue for participants to exchange experiences and practical insights on duck production, reinforcing collaborative learning among farming communities in the province. The training concluded with an open forum, post-test evaluation, awarding, photo opportunity, and closing remarks delivered by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗜𝗺𝗲𝗲 𝗗. 𝗘𝘀𝗴𝘂𝗲𝗿𝗿𝗮, BASC Extension Services Director.

Through the promotion and utilization of ItikPinas technology, the project supports sustainable agricultural practices and contributes to broader development goals aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2: Zero Hunger, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, and SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production. By equipping farmers with science-based production and management practices, the initiative aims to strengthen local duck egg production while improving livelihood opportunities among small-scale farming communities in Bulacan.
