A Step Toward Greener Tomorrow ๐ด
Anao-aon Central Elementary School conducted its 2026 School Tree Planting Activity on March 11, 2026, in support of Project One Million Trees.
Learners and teachers gathered in the school grounds to plant tree seedlings as part of the continuing effort to promote environmental care and sustainability. The activity also helped pupils understand the importance of protecting nature and taking part in community initiatives.
Sir Jay Ronald L. Becina, the school principal III, expressed appreciation to everyone who supported the activity and encouraged the school community to continue caring for the trees planted.
The successful conduct of the activity was made possible through the initiative and leadership of Dr. Daisy S. Donasco, the OIC for the month, whose guidance and commitment helped turn the activity into reality. Her efforts inspired the school community to work together in supporting environmental programs.
Through collective action, Anao-aon Central Elementary School continues to promote environmental awareness while strengthening community participation.

During the opening of the 2025 Division Schools Press Conference last December 9, 2025 held at the Municipal Gymnasium, DepEd Surigao del Norte Division Superintendent Dr. Karen L. Galanida delivered a powerful call to action for budding student journalists.
In her speech, Dr. Galanida emphasized the critical role of young writers in shaping an informed and responsible society. โ In a nation wrestling with accountability and transparency, young writers must become the guardians of truth,โ she said.
She further highlighted the challenges posed by todayโs media landscape: โ In an era of misinformation, trending hashtags, troll narratives, AI-made characters, and fake news, journalists must be the bringers of light, carriers of truth, and defenders of democracy.โ
Dr. Galanida encouraged participants to uphold ethical journalism, to critically evaluate sources, and to use their voices responsibly, reinforcing the importance of student press organizations as platforms for cultivating integrity, discernment, and civic responsibility.
The conference gathered student journalists from across the division to participate in competitions and workshops aimed at strengthening their reporting, writing, and media literacy skills.
