Why does toothpaste have three different colors sometimes? A lot of them have the colors white, blue, and red. The different colored stripes have different compounds and have different purposes.
White: The white stripe has fluoride, which is the most important part of the toothpaste as it whitens teeth and removes plaque as well.
Blue/Green: the green stripe has substances, which make your breath fresh.
Red: The red stripe is the new addition to toothpaste as it came long after the initial white and the second addition blue. It contains elements, which keep your gums healthy.
Another thing you might not have known is that the colors don’t have to be separate. It simply looks better and is more marketable than a plain colored toothpaste.
