Please be advised that Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag has ordered the extension of the suspension of face-to-face classes until tomorrow, August 20, 2026. This covers all levels in both public and private schools.

The suspension is due to forecasts that the Enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will bring more rain over the City of San Fernando. The extension aims to keep learners, teachers, and school personnel safe from potential heavy rainfall brought about by the Enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat). As of this writing, several areas inside barangay remain flooded.

Schools are authorized to implement online learning or alternative teaching modalities to ensure educational continuity. However, Caluag advises school administrations to thoroughly review their learners' specific situations before deploying these options, given the flooding situation in localized areas.

According to the 5:00 PM Heavy Rainfall Warning issued by PAGASA today, August 10, the City of San Fernando remains under Orange Warning Level.

Please be advised that Mayor Vilma Balle-Caluag has ordered the suspension of classes at all levels in public and private schools in the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, tomorrow, February 25, 2026. This suspension provides students adequate time to visit the Kaganapan 2026 Cityhood Exhibit at the Heroes Hall.

Launched on February 4, 2026, to mark the city’s 25th Cityhood Anniversary, the exhibit features photographs, paintings, and historical publications depicting San Fernando’s journey from its historic beginnings to its emergence as a model city. It serves as an avenue for young Fernandinos to appreciate their city’s rich history, coinciding with the 40th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution and Kaganapan, two significant milestones for the country and the city.

These activities necessitate the active participation of the community, particularly the youth. With the Kaganapan 2026 Cityhood Exhibit scheduled to close on February 28, Caluag considers this the perfect opportunity for students to experience and appreciate the city’s heritage before the celebration concludes and as they commemorate the EDSA.

The Local Government Code of 1991 vests upon the City Mayor the authority to promote the general welfare, preserve and enrich culture, and, when warranted by justifiable circumstances, declare localized suspensions of classes within the territorial jurisdiction of the City.
