🐟🌿 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐇𝐨𝐦𝐞! 🌿🐟

A significant milestone has been reached in the Environmental Science Department's Eco Laboratory as the tilapia fingerlings have now been successfully stocked in our Pool-to-Pond Eco Lab!

Following the successful cycling and preparation of the pool, these young fish have officially found their new home, where they will become part of a living laboratory dedicated to hands-on learning, research, and sustainable aquaculture practices.

This initiative will provide our students with valuable opportunities to gain practical experience in fisheries management, water quality monitoring, ecosystem dynamics, and environmental sustainability.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to the 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐮 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬 (𝐁𝐅𝐀𝐑) 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐈𝐈, through the generosity and support of Dr. Al Dimaquibo, for donating the tilapia fingerlings that made this project possible. The College of Arts and Sciences – Environmental Science Department extends its sincere gratitude to Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Region 3, through Dr. Al Dimaquibo, for generously awarding tilapia fingerlings to our department as part of our Pool-to-Pond Project.

This valuable support will greatly contribute to the development of our Eco-Laboratory and provide meaningful hands-on learning opportunities for our students in the areas of aquaculture, environmental management, and sustainable food production. Through this initiative, our students will gain practical experience while fostering environmental stewardship and responsible resource management.

We deeply appreciate BFAR Region 3's commitment to strengthening environmental education and supporting academic institutions in cultivating future environmental professionals.

Sa pagdiriwang ng Philippine Environment Month, muli nating alalahanin na ang pangangalaga sa kalikasan ay responsibilidad ng bawat isa. Ang mga hamon dulot ng climate change ay paalala na kailangan nating kumilos ngayon para sa mas ligtas at mas maayos na kinabukasan.

Sa simpleng paraan—pagtitipid ng likas na yaman, wastong pamamahala ng basura, at pangangalaga sa ating kapaligiran—makakagawa tayo ng positibong pagbabago para sa ating komunidad at sa susunod na henerasyon.

Sa temang “Climate Action: Fostering Community Spirit, Caring for the Environment,” ipinapaalala sa atin na ang bawat maliit na hakbang tulad ng pagtatanim ng puno, wastong pamamahala ng basura, paglilinis ng kapaligiran, at pagtitipid ng likas na yaman, ay may malaking ambag sa pagbuo ng mas matatag at sustainable na kinabukasan.

Ang tunay na pagbabago ay nagsisimula sa pagkakaisa ng komunidad at aktibong pakikilahok ng bawat isa.
