SLC Louisian Theatre Ensemble members and leaders were recognized for their achievements this season through the prestigious Gawad San Luis 2026 held last May 23, 2026, at the Fr. Burgos Gymnasium.

LTE members received the 𝑮𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒅 𝑺𝒂𝒏 𝑳𝒖𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑪𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑨𝒓𝒕𝒔🏅, 𝑮𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒅 𝑺𝒂𝒏 𝑳𝒖𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑳𝒊𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒈𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆🏅, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑮𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒅 𝑺𝒂𝒏 𝑳𝒖𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑨𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒄𝒔🏅 for their recognitions as student performers who embody excellence, Christ-centeredness, and passion for culture and the arts. Meanwhile, LTE leaders were also recognized through the 𝑮𝒂𝒘𝒂𝒅 𝑺𝒂𝒏 𝑳𝒖𝒊𝒔 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝑺𝒕𝒖𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑳𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒓𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑🏅 for their exemplary leadership and service throughout the season.

And for the very first time, LTE proudly received the 𝐆𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐝 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐋𝐮𝐢𝐬 𝐎𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 🏆— a milestone that proves that LTE is capable of so much more. This award stands as a testament to the organization’s unwavering commitment to excellence, mission-centered service, and Christ-centered leadership this Academic Year 2025-2026.

SLC Louisian Theatre Ensemble— Gawad San Luis for Outstanding Student Organization 🏆

𝐒𝐀𝐍𝐀𝐘 𝐒𝐈𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐊𝐒𝐇𝐎𝐏 2026 🎭

The 𝐒𝐋𝐂 𝐋𝐨𝐮𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐬𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐞 and 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐋𝐮𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐨 took part in the 𝐒𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐲 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 2026 held last May 9–10, 2026 at the High School AVR and Social Center. The workshop was led by Mr. Remus Villanueva, a respected educator and theatre actor, whose presence alone already set the tone for seriousness and passion in the craft.

Through his guidance, the room transformed into a space of focus, discipline, and creativity. From vocal training to theatre exercises, each session helped shape how we approach performance both as a team and as individual actors. The first day focused on intensive workshops, while the second day brought everything together through a showcase built from what we learned in a short but meaningful process.

The Louisian Theatre Ensemble extends its sincere gratitude to the 𝙎𝙇𝘾 𝘼𝙙𝙢𝙞𝙣𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣, 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙍𝙚𝙫. 𝙁𝙧. 𝙍𝙤𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙞𝙘𝙠 𝙂. 𝙑𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙧, 𝘾𝙄𝘾𝙈, 𝙋𝙝𝘿, for making this opportunity possible. Matagumpay na naidaos ang 𝐋𝐎𝐕𝐄: 𝐎𝐏𝐌 𝐂𝐂𝐀𝐇 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐭 2026 sa Fr. Burgos Gymnasium ng Saint Louis College noong ika-20 ng Abril 2026—kung saan buong pusong itinanghal ng SLC Louisian Theatre Ensemble ang dulang musikal na “𝑰𝒎 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒐: 𝑰𝒔𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝑴𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒌𝒂𝒍” sa tatlong makabuluhang pagtatanghal.

Sa bawat pagbukas ng telon, naihatid ang kuwentong sumasalamin sa pag-ibig, pagtanggap sa sarili, at katotohanang sa likod ng inaakalang perpekto ay may pusong dumaraan din sa takot at pagdududa. Higit sa pagtatanghal, naging makabuluhang karanasan ito para sa mga manonood na nakiisa, tumawa, naantig, at nagbigay ng mainit na suporta hanggang sa huling pagbaba ng kurtina.

Taos-pusong pasasalamat kay Mr. Jeson Mercado, Director ng SLC Louisian Theatre Ensemble at Head ng Center for Culture, Arts, and Heritage, at sa SLC Management sa pangunguna ni Fr. Roderick G. Villamar, CICM, PhD, sa walang sawang suporta sa sining at talento ng kabataang Louisiano.

𝗜𝗡 𝗣𝗛𝗢𝗧𝗢𝗦 | 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗢𝗣𝗠: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗖𝗔𝗛 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Another unmistakable pulse of Louisian creativity took center stage in Love OPM: The CCAH Concert 2026, held on April 20 at the SLC Fr. Burgos Gymnasium. Mounted as a celebration of Saint Louis College’s 62nd Founding Anniversary, the concert became more than just a musical showcase—it unfolded as a living storybook of Filipino experiences, told through songs, dance movements, dramatic performances, and musical instruments.

Anchored on the richness of Original Pilipino Music (OPM), the evening pieced together narratives of romance, friendship, passion, and authentic self-expression.

The full roster of the Center for Culture, the Arts, and Heritage (CCAH) performers delivered an explosive display of talent. The Samtoy Dance Troupe, Libtak Dance Troupe, and the Siglat Dance Troupe captivated the audience with dynamic choreography that fused modern and contemporary expression.

Vocal excellence resonated throughout the venue as the SLC Chorale, Seraphim Choir, and Cherubim Choir filled the air with harmonies that were both powerful and heartfelt, giving new emotional depth to beloved OPM pieces.

The Louisian Theater Ensemble’s performance of I’m Perfecto: Isang Musikal added a theatrical dimension to the concert. Meanwhile, Teatrong Luwisyano delivered an emotionally charged performance that illuminated pressing political challenges, engaging the audience in a thought-provoking and socially relevant experience. Through storytelling, acting, and music, the production explored themes of self-discovery and acceptance, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

Meanwhile, the SLC Marching Band energized the crowd with vibrant instrumentation, bringing a grand and celebratory atmosphere that tied the entire show together.

Love OPM: The CCAH Concert 2026 was indeed a reminder of how stories, when told through dance, music and performance, can connect, inspire, and ignite pride in one’s culture. But beyond the usual notion of “Pinoy pride,” the concert offered something deeper—a renewed appreciation for OPM as a shared space of experience.

As Saint Louis College marked its 62nd year, the concert affirmed that its commitment to the arts remains not only alive, but thriving.
