On April 23, 2026, the Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III conducted a Regional Quality Assessment Team (RQAT) visit to Colegio De San Gabriel Arcangel, Inc., Blk. 13 Lot 26, City of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan, in line with the institutionโs application for Government Recognition to operate the Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology and Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Technology programs.
The visit ensures that the institution complies with the Commissionโs prescribed standards and supports quality allied medical health education in the Region.

The Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) Region III successfully held its 2026 Regional Convention on May8-9, 2026 at Sinagtala Farm Resort and Adventure Park, bringing together Information Technology educators, academic leaders, researchers, and innovators from across Central Luzon under the inspiring theme: โElevating I.T. Education: Bridging Knowledge, Skills, and Igniting Innovation.โ
The two-day convention served as a significant platform for professional growth, collaboration, and capability-building among IT educators in the region. Through insightful discussions, leadership engagements, and academic exchanges, participants were empowered with updated knowledge, emerging trends, and innovative strategies in Information Technology education. The activity reinforced the importance of continuously strengthening faculty competencies in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, data analytics, digital transformation, and industry-responsive instruction to ensure that graduates remain globally competitive and future-ready.
One of the highlights of the convention was the presentation of CHED updates delivered by Dr. John Wesley Calagui, who represented Dr. Maura Consolacion D. Cristobal, CHEDRO III Regional Director. In his presentation, Dr. Calagui discussed the current directions and priorities of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), particularly the ACHIEVE Framework of Chairperson Dr. Shirley C. Agrupis.
The discussion emphasized the crucial role of IT Educators in advancing the goals of the ACHIEVE Agenda, particularly in the areas of lifelong learning, human capital development, research and innovation, internationalization, digital transformation, institutional governance, and effective public service. Dr. Calagui highlighted that Information Technology education is now central to national development as industries increasingly rely on digital innovation, automation, data systems, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies.
He also underscored that IT Educators are not merely instructors inside the classroom, but catalysts of innovation and nation-builders tasked with preparing students to become globally competitive professionals, ethical digital leaders, and future-ready innovators.
As the convention concluded, participants renewed their shared commitment toward achieving excellence in Information Technology education and contributing to the transformation of Philippine higher education through innovation, collaboration, and public service.

To ensure that the Bachelor of Science Medical Technology/ Medical Laboratory Science students receive the necessary laboratory exposures and learn the necessary skills during their internship training program, the Commission on Higher Education, Regional Office III, evaluated the medical laboratory facilities of Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center, City of Balanga, Bataan, on April 30, 2026.
Once accredited, Bataan General Hospital and Medical Center shall serve as an official training facility for future medical technologists.

The Commission on Higher Education Regional Office III (CHEDRO III) conducted an onsite monitoring visit and orientation at Microcity College of Business and Technology - Bataan on May 6, 2026, to assess and strengthen the implementation of the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education (UAQTE) Program. During the activity, three (3) Tulong Dunong Program (TDP) grantees were oriented on the programโs policies, benefits, and responsibilities.
Furthermore, in preparation for the transition to the new grant disbursement process, all three (3) attending grantees have successfully opened their respective accounts with the Land Bank of the Philippines, allowing them to receive their grants directly with greater convenience and accessibility anytime and anywhere. This initiative is expected to speed up and improve the efficiency of financial assistance distribution.
Guided by the CHED ACHIEVE Agenda, particularly its focus on Advanced and Accessible Lifelong Learning and Effective and Efficient Public Service, CHEDRO III continues to strengthen its efforts to expand lifelong learning opportunities and improve public service delivery, while ensuring broader access to quality higher education in Region III.
