The CCSFP Research and Extension Services Council held its first quarterly meeting of the year yesterday at the CCSFP Board Room.

The meeting covered key updates and discussions, including matters arising from the November 2025 meeting, the current composition of the RES Council, and various research and community extension initiatives of the institution.

Present during the meeting were Atty. Gloria J. Victoria-Bañas, DPA, CPA, CESO V; Ms. Aileen Villanueva, MPA, RSW, MSSW; Dr. Melanie Junio; Dr. Maria Cristina Basilio; Mr. Cris Balingit; Mr. Justine Francisco; Ms. Lyka De Jesus, CPA; Mr. Jen Robert Blanza; Ms. Alliyah Joy Latañafrancia; and Ms. Romalaine Manalang.

Dr. Basilio joins the conference as co-presenter of this study examining how young lantern makers are reshaping and reinterpreting Parul Sampernandu within contemporary contexts.

Jen Robert D. Blanza is a faculty member at the City College of San Fernando, where he teaches Fernandino History, Rizal, and Philippine History. A graduate of UP Baguio (cum laude), his research focuses on the lantern industry of San Fernando, local history, and heritage conservation. He is also actively involved in research initiatives and public history advocacy.

Joel Q. Calaguas is a Professor and Associate Dean of the Institute of Business Administration at the City College of San Fernando, Pampanga. He previously served as Researcher for Institutional Planning and Evaluation at the University of the Assumption. His work bridges academic leadership and business research, advancing institutional development and research culture in higher education.
