A day of awareness, learning, and standing together for a safer community. ✨

On August 19, 2026, the learners of South Poblacion NHS – Math & Science School gathered for Project Vigilance: A Symposium on Drug Awareness, Safety, and Security.

With the presence of our teachers, school personnel, and invited guests, the symposium opened a meaningful discussion on the importance of staying informed and making responsible choices. Through the messages and insights shared, learners were reminded that saying no to drugs is not only a personal choice, it is also a step toward protecting ourselves, our friends, our families, and our community.

The activity was more than just a gathering. It was a reminder that awareness can create action, and that every learner has a role in building a safer and healthier environment.

On August 17, 2026, the SPNHS-MSS community gathered to honor and bid farewell to a teacher who has become a meaningful part of our MathSci family. As Teacher Avon Kaye Abogado begins a new chapter in her teaching journey, we look back with gratitude for the knowledge, dedication, and inspiration she has shared with us.

“Goodbyes are not forever, are not the end; it simply means we will miss you until we meet again.”

To Teacher Avon, thank you for sharing your passion for Science, your kindness, and your dedication with us. The lessons you taught and the memories you created will remain a meaningful part of our MathSci journey.

On August 10, 2026, Mathsci officially opened its celebration of ASEAN Month 2026!

This celebration is more than just recognizing the different countries and cultures in Southeast Asia. It is also a chance for us to learn about unity, respect, diversity, and cooperation among ASEAN nations.

Despite our differences in language, traditions, and ways of life, ASEAN reminds us that we share many things in common. As young people, we can help build stronger communities by appreciating our own culture while respecting the cultures of others.

ONE VISION, ONE IDENTITY, ONE ASEAN

Today August 8 we celebrate ASEAN Day remembering the creation of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) in 1967.

What started with five countries—Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand—has become a group of nations that are stronger because of working together being friends keeping peace and moving forward together. Over the years ASEAN countries have joined hands to make connections help the region grow protect different cultures and build a better future.

As Filipinos and as people, from Southeast Asia let us keep valuing the cultures that make our area special learn from each other and stay together even when we are different. Let us keep the idea of working alive and remember that when countries help each other being different is our power and being one is our base.

On August 07, 2026, marked the 2nd General PTA Assembly, where parents, teachers, school leaders, and learners came together with a shared purpose: to strengthen the partnership that continues to shape our school community.

The gathering gave everyone a chance to share ideas, discuss important matters, and work together for the betterment of our school.

The week began with more than just the usual Monday flag ceremony. Today, July 20, after the school community gathered for the flag-raising ceremony, another meaningful moment followed as the newly elected Supreme Secondary Learner Government (SSLG) Officers officially took their oath of office.

As they stood before the school community, each officer accepted not only a position but also the responsibility that comes with it. Their oath served as a reminder that leadership is about listening, serving, and working together to make the school a better place for every learner.

Congratulations to our newly inducted SSLG Officers. May your actions always reflect the promise you made today.
