A proud moment for the 143rd Naval Reserve Officers’ Training Corps Unit unfolded today as 𝐄𝐍𝐒 𝐇𝐚𝐢𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐚 𝐁𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐝𝐨𝐥 𝐏𝐍, 𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑒𝑟 𝐶𝑜𝑟𝑝𝑠 𝐶𝑜𝑚𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟, officially graduated as a commissioned officer of the Philippine Navy last December 1, 2025.

The graduation took place at the Philippine Air Force Gymnasium, Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base in Pasay City, during the 𝐌𝐚𝐣𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞 Joint Graduation Ceremony for Calendar Year 2025, which was 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐛𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐞𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐬, 𝐉𝐫.

𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐨𝐬, 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐆𝐢𝐥𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐨 𝐂. 𝐓𝐞𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐨, 𝐉𝐫. 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐅𝐏 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐟𝐟 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨 𝐒. 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫, 𝐉𝐫., led the ceremony in welcoming the newest batch of officers into the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

A total of 638 graduates completed the rigorous one-year Officer Candidate Course, representing the three major services of the AFP:

PA Bumannawag Class 2025

ENS Mapangdol’s achievement marks a significant milestone not only for himself but also for the 143rd NROTC Unit, which celebrates the success of one of its exemplary leaders rising to serve the nation as a Navy officer.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | 143rd NROTC Unit Cadets conducted the Entrance of Colors during the opening of the 𝐆𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐨 𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐏𝐂𝐌𝐒𝐓 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 on December 05, 2025. They also rendered a Sword Crossing Ceremony to formally honor and welcome the distinguished guests of the event. The cadets performed both ceremonies with discipline, proper bearing, and careful coordination, ensuring that each moment was executed with respect and precision. Their participation provided a dignified and memorable start to the program, highlighting their commitment to tradition, professionalism, and the honorable representation of the Corps in official school activities.

Today’s activity: The training staff, cadet officers, and MS1 cadets demonstrated their continued commitment to excellence as they conducted the Arrival of Honors drill. This exercise plays a vital role in reinforcing discipline, precision, and coordinated movement, qualities that are fundamental to professional military conduct. Through synchronized ex*****on and strict adherence to established drill protocols, the cadets showcased their developing proficiency in ceremonial procedures and their dedication to upholding the standards expected in a formal military setting.

𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒 | The 143rd NROTC MS1 Cadets and Cadettes during their 11th Training Day on November 22, 2025, successfully carried out a Combat Survival Technique activity with emphasis on field cooking and food preparation in a simulated survival environment. This training was designed to enhance the cadets’ capability to sustain themselves under challenging conditions by developing their resourcefulness, adaptability, discipline, and ability to function efficiently despite limited resources.

Throughout the activity, the cadets were tasked to prepare meals using improvised methods and available materials, applying the fundamental principles of combat survival such as ration management, teamwork, time management, and proper handling of cooking equipment in outdoor conditions. The exercise also strengthened their sense of responsibility, coordination, and leadership as they worked together to accomplish their assigned tasks safely and effectively.

This activity was organized and led by the Training Staff and Cadet Officers, under the supervision of their NSTP Coordinator to ensure the proper implementation of training objectives, safety measures, and compliance with established protocols. The activity served as a vital component of their continuous development as future reservists and disciplined citizens committed to service, excellence, and national preparedness.
