Amidst the rush of our first day of classes today, we are pausing to look back and give the warmest belated birthday greetings to two of our hard-working leaders who celebrated their special days last week!

On May 23, 2026, the 𝙂𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙙 𝙎𝙖𝙣 𝙇𝙪𝙞𝙨 2026 recognition program was held at the Fr. Burgos Gymnasium, honoring students who have shown outstanding brilliance, dedication, and passion in their respective fields. Students received awards and recognition in five major categories: 𝙂𝙖𝙬𝙖𝙙 𝙎𝙖𝙣 𝙇𝙪𝙞𝙨 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙇𝙞𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙜𝙮, 𝘾𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙨, 𝙎𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨, 𝘼𝙘𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙘𝙨, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙇𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙝𝙞𝙥.

Culture, flavor, heritage, and innovation came together as Third-Year Tourism students from Saint Louis College, City of San Fernando, La Union, embarked on an immersive educational journey in the Municipality of Naguilian through a series of Mock Tour Guiding activities held on April 25, May 2, and May 9, 2026.

Warmly welcomed by the Municipal Government of Naguilian, the Louisian students explored some of the municipality’s unique tourism gems that continue to shape the identity of the “Heart of La Union.”

One of the highlights of the visit was the students’ experience at the Naguilian Tourist Rest Area, where they discovered the rich history and distinct flavors deeply rooted in the town’s culture. The students had the opportunity to taste the famous basi—a traditional sugarcane wine whose industry dates back even before the Spanish colonial era. They also enjoyed the innovative basi-infused coffee crafted by Sensory Specialty Coffee, a creative blend that perfectly captures Naguilian’s ability to preserve tradition while embracing modern innovation.

The educational tour also brought the future tourism professionals to the L&D Citrus Farm, where they witnessed sustainable farming practices and learned about the municipality’s growing agritourism initiatives. Surrounded by lush greenery and citrus orchards, the students gained a deeper appreciation for the role of agriculture in promoting sustainable and community-based tourism.

More than just a tour, the activity served as a meaningful learning experience that allowed the students to connect classroom knowledge with real-life tourism destinations, local products, and cultural heritage.

The Municipal Tourism Office of Naguilian extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Louisian students, faculty members, and facilitators for choosing Naguilian as part of their educational journey. As future tourism professionals, may they continue to champion local culture, heritage, and sustainable tourism wherever they go.

Last April 25, May 2, and May 9, our 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙧𝙙-𝙔𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙨𝙢 𝙨𝙩𝙪𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 proved their dedication and mastery of the craft as they 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙬𝙘𝙖𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙂𝙪𝙞𝙙𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙨𝙠𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨 during their Mock Tour activity!

With poise, confidence, and clear articulation, each student led the experience from start to finish. Beginning with a warm and professional self-introduction, followed by a complete tour briefing including important guidelines and safety precautions. They took everyone on a journey across the different municipalities and cities of La Union, bringing each destination to life through engaging storytelling and sharing rich local history, culture, and facts. Every presentation ended with a heartfelt and memorable closing, leaving a wonderful impression of our beloved province.

This activity was more than just practice. It was a step toward becoming skilled, knowledgeable, and passionate tourism professionals ready to welcome and guide future visitors.

The activity was facilitated and guided by their course facilitator, 𝙈𝙖'𝙖𝙢 𝘿𝙤𝙣𝙣𝙖 𝙉𝙖𝙫𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙤, alongside the 𝙃𝙏𝙈 𝙁𝙖𝙘𝙪𝙡𝙩𝙮 𝙢𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙨, who provided their support to help every student grow and improve.
