CLEANER COASTS, CLEANER SEAS!

IN PHOTOS: On 15 June 2023, members of Coast Guard Non-Officers’ Course (CGNOC) Class 97-2022 “ALAB-HIRAYA” composed of 381 female trainees participated in a Coastal Clean-Up activity at Brgy. San Agustin, City of San Fernando, La Union. CG ENS JOHN PAOLO R BAUTISTA, Tactical Officer at Regional Training Center La Union led the said activity.

The aforementioned activity seeks to raise awareness of the importance of preserving and protecting the marine environment. The trainees are reminded that it is their responsibility as future coastguardians to take the initiative in maintaining the natural beauty of our coastal waters.

LOOK: In line with the country’s celebration of the 125th Philippine Independence Day, the Regional Training Center La Union together with the members of the Coast Guard Non-Officers’ Course (CGNOC) Class 97-2022 “ALAB-HIRAYA” participated in the simultaneous flag raising ceremony. Said activity was spearheaded by CG ENS ANNYKKA MARIE E BAYTING, Assistant Course Director of the said class.

On Independence Day, the sacrifices of our national heroes are remembered, the country's sovereignty is appreciated, instilling nationalism in the citizens, as well as celebrating the culture and tradition of its people. Further, it is to commemorate the historical significance of the birth of our Nation’s Flag that symbolizes our identity.

IN PHOTOS: On 05 June 2023, Coast Guard Non-Officers Course (CGNOC) Class 97-2022 “ALAB-HIRAYA” celebrated their 6th monthsary at Regional Training Center La Union, Poro Point, City of San Fernando, La Union with the theme “Barrio Fiesta” spearheaded by CG CDR VINCENT S LACA, Director Regional Training Center- La Union.

Barrio fiesta, which means neighborhood celebration, is an integral part of the Filipino culture through which different neighborhoods in the Philippines celebrate their patron saints. Fiesta is already part of the lives of Filipino and the endowment of Philippine culture.

CG CDR LACA rendered a speech wherein he reminded the female trainees to just enjoy the event with the whole training directorate of RTC La Union. “Today is the perfect time to celebrate and showcase the different cultures and festivals of your regions”, he added.

The aforementioned activity aims to build the camaraderie and unity of the female trainees especially in celebrating events that will showcase their powerful talents and creative skills. Indeed, there is unity in diversity.

LOOK: Coast Guard Non-Officers Course (CGNOC) Class 97-2022 “ALAB-HIRAYA” composed of 381 female trainees conducted an opening ceremony of their Sportsfest 2023 at Regional Training Center La Union, City of San Fernando, La Union spearheaded by CG CDR VINCENT S LACA, Director- Regional Training Center La Union together with other officers, training staff and drill instructors of RTC La Union.

CG CDR LACA delivered a speech wherein he reminded the female trainees to have a positive outlook in life and to always choose to wake up with a smile even in times of struggles. “Now is the time to showcase your skills when it comes to sports”, he added. The said activity aims to build the camaraderie and cooperation among the trainees. Furthermore, it will encourage them to give their utmost in all events.

ATM: On 26 May 2023, the Christian trainees of (CGNOC) Class 97 2022 "ALAB HIRAYA" conducting NEHEMIAH Workshop at the Function Hall, Coast Guard District North Western Luzon, City of San Fernando La Union.

The name Nehemiah means Yahweh has comforted. Nehemiah offers hope and much more. This guides us on how to overcome troubles and trust in God while showing Nehemiah’s prayer life, leadership, and faithfulness.

LOOK: On 23 May 2023, Coast Guard Non-Officers Course (CGNOC) Class 97-2022 “ALAB-HIRAYA” had their final graded Physical Fitness Test at Lighthouse, Brgy. Poro Point, City of San Fernando, La Union. The officers and drill instructors of Regional Training Center (RTC) La Union facilitated and assessed the trainees during the activity.

The activity aims to maintain the trainees' self-discipline, agility, strength and endurance which are equally important in the performance of their duties and responsibilities as coast guardians.
