TESDA Regional Office I successfully conducted the CTEC Regional Association Meeting on May 12, 2026 via Zoom, bringing together representatives from TESDA offices, Local Government Units (LGUs), Technical Vocational Institutions (TVIs), and industry partners across Region I.
The activity aimed to formally establish the Regional CTEC Association as the official organization of Community Training and Employment Coordinators (CTECs) in Region I. It also served as a platform to strengthen coordination, partnership, and collaboration among stakeholders in support of Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programs and initiatives.
One of the highlights of the meeting was the presentation of Provincial CTEC Officers from Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, and Pangasinan, fostering camaraderie and stronger regional cooperation among participants. This was followed by the successful conduct of the election process for the creation of the Regional CTEC Association.
The newly elected Regional CTEC Association officers are expected to lead initiatives that promote unity, active participation, and stronger partnerships among member provinces in advancing TVET programs and community-based training efforts in the region.

The Technical Education and Skills Development Authority โ Luciano Millan Memorial School of Arts and Trades (TESDA-LMMSAT) actively participated in the 124th Labor Day Job Fair in Urdaneta City, promoting skills development, employment, and livelihood opportunities for the community.
Led by Mr. Jesus O. Salagubang, Vocational School Administrator III, the TESDA-LMMSAT delegation highlighted TESDAโs commitment to accessible and quality technical-vocational education. Job seekers were encouraged to take advantage of TESDAโs scholarship programs, skills training, and national certification opportunities.
One of the highlights of the activity was the Wellness Demonstration conducted by Mr. Arnold S. Ancheta, Instructor I, featuring Massage Therapy and Hilot Wellness. Free pampering services were also provided to selected applicants and participants, attracting visitors who inquired about TESDA courses, scholarships, and certification processes.
The event was conducted alongside various government service initiatives, including Kadiwa ng Pangulo, TUPAD payout, government one-stop services, and free legal and personal care services.

TESDA Region I Conducts Expertsโ Meeting in Preparation for the Upcoming CY 2026 Regional Skills Olympics
TESDA Region I successfully conducted an Expertsโ Meeting in preparation for the upcoming Regional Skills Olympics (RSO). The meeting gathered technical experts and trainers from the following fifteen (15) skills areas: Automobile Technology, Bakery, Beauty Therapy, Cooking, Carpentry, Electrical Installations, Fashion Technology, Floristry, Graphic Design Technology, Hairdressing, Hotel Reception, Landscape Gardening, Restaurant Services, Wall and Floor Tiling, and Welding.
Held on May 06, 2026 at the Regional Office I Conference Room, the activity brought together participants to engage in focused discussions and workshops aimed at finalizing key preparations and strengthening competition systems, guidelines, and technical standards to ensure smooth implementation of the event.
A key output of the meeting was the finalization of the โCompetition Packages,โ which include marking criteria, required tools and equipment, and skills management plans. Experts also reviewed the Competition Information System (CIS) and finalized agreements to ensure fair, accurate, and consistent competition standards across all skills areas.
The session was guided by Mr. Jovencio F. Panida, Vice Chairperson of the Technical Committee, with support from TESDA Region I officials. Assistant Regional Director Larry F. Dizon, Sr. emphasized alignment with global standards, while RTC I Administrator Mr. Artemio S. Pulido highlighted the goal of producing highly skilled and competitive workers.
The activity strengthens TESDA Region Iโs preparations for a well-organized Regional Skills Olympics that promotes excellence and workforce readiness.

TESDA Ilocos Norte proudly celebrated two major milestones through the successful conduct of the Training Induction Program (TIP) for the Handloom Weaving (Upright) NC II Training, attended by 25 scholars from Nueva Era.
The activity was led by Provincial Director Sharon Sinlao Estigoy, who emphasized that the initiative supports the directive of TESDA Director General Kiko Benitez to strengthen and expand programs for the creative sector while preserving cultural heritage and creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for communities.
Municipal Vice Mayor Caroline Arzadon-Garvida expressed the Local Government Unitโs full support for the initiative, recognizing its role in preserving local culture and opening more economic opportunities for the people of Nueva Era.
Meanwhile, Ms. Achelle Anne B. Corpuz presented the updated TSF distribution system through the Land Bank of the Philippines. Scholars will open LANDBANK PISO or PISO Plus accounts to receive their allowances, ensuring faster, safer, and more transparent transactions with simplified requirements and no initial deposit.
The training will be implemented by the Provincial Training CenterโBanna under the leadership of Center Administrator Irvin D. Tolentino.

A comprehensive Fire Safety Seminar and Drill was successfully conducted at the TESDA Regional Office, reinforcing the agencyโs commitment to preparedness, prevention, and employee safety in the workplace.
The activity aimed to equip personnel with essential knowledge and practical skills in responding to fire-related emergencies. Through both classroom discussion and hands-on drill exercises, participants were trained on proper fire prevention practices, emergency response protocols, and the correct use of firefighting equipment.
The seminar was led by experienced fire safety officers who emphasized the importance of awareness, quick decision-making, and coordinated response during emergencies.

Ruiz imparted this timeless wisdom to the scholars in Organic Agriculture Production (OAP) NC II under the 2026 Training for Work Scholarship Program (TWSP) during their graduation ceremony held at the Function Room of the JFC Training and Assessment Center Inc, San Fernando City, La Union.
