BENEDICITE.
Let us bless the Lord
as we meditate on His words.
Inspired by the Lectio Divina from the monastic tradition of the Benedictines, seminarian Christian Jay Coronel shares his spoken reflection that flowed from his prayerful reading of the Scriptures and silent meditation for the Second Sunday of Easter.
๐Ÿ“œ John 20:19-31
-------
๐ŸŒฟ Steps of Lectio Divina
1๏ธโƒฃ Lectio โ€” โ€œReadโ€
You slowly and attentively read the Scripture passage, noticing any word or phrase that stands out. Itโ€™s not rushed. You read until something โ€œtouchesโ€ you.
2๏ธโƒฃ Meditatio โ€” โ€œMeditateโ€
You reflect on the word or phrase that caught your attention.
Ask:
Why is this word speaking to me now?
What is God reminding me of?
What does this say about my life today?
3๏ธโƒฃ Oratio โ€” โ€œPrayโ€
You respond to God from the heart. This is your personal prayer โ€” thanksgiving, asking for help, surrendering, or interceding.
4๏ธโƒฃ Contemplatio โ€” โ€œContemplate / Restโ€
You rest in Godโ€™s presence. No more talking. No more thinking. Just being still with the One who loves you.
5๏ธโƒฃ Actio โ€” โ€œActโ€
Living out the Word you received. Itโ€™s about doing something concrete inspired by the reflection.
