Held on April 30 to May 1, 2026, in Zamboanga City and organized by the Association of Deans of Philippine Colleges of Nursing (ADPCN), this academic initiative underscores a shared commitment to advancing nursing education in response to the evolving health needs of the Philippines. Anchored on the theme โ๐๐ง๐๐ฃ๐จ๐๐ค๐ง๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐ช๐ง๐จ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ช๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐ค๐ง ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐๐ก๐ฉ๐ ๐๐ง๐๐ค๐ง๐๐ฉ๐๐๐จ: ๐๐ช๐๐ก๐๐ฉ๐ฎ, ๐๐ฆ๐ช๐๐ฉ๐ฎ & ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฉ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐จ๐จ,โ the engagement highlights the importance of strengthening instructional quality, enriching clinical training, and integrating evidence-based practices to ensure that nursing graduates are competent and future-ready.
Central to this transformation is the promotion of equity in educationโensuring that all nursing students are provided with fair opportunities to learn and are prepared to deliver inclusive, patient-centered care, especially among diverse and underserved populations. Equally emphasized is practice readiness, where students are equipped with the necessary skills, confidence, and hands-on experience to transition effectively into real-world clinical settings. Through these efforts, the initiative aims to develop compassionate, resilient, and globally competitive Filipino nurses.
This endeavor is led by Dr. Marites B. Cadam-us, Dean of the School of Health Sciences, whose leadership continues to inspire excellence in nursing education. Supporting this vision are the dedicated Level Coordinators: Prof. Marius F. Flores, Jr. for Level I; Prof. Chermaine F. Corpuz and Prof. Generose G. Minieda for Level II; Prof. Only H. Navalta for Level III; and Dr. Fatima A. Carsola for Level IV. Together, they uphold a unified commitment to shaping the next generation of nurses grounded in quality, equity, and readiness for practice.
As the landscape of healthcare continues to evolve, this collective effort stands as a powerful testament that transforming nursing education today is essential to securing a healthier, more equitable tomorrowโwhere every Filipino nurse is not only prepared to serve, but empowered to lead.
