The VMSSHS community gathered at the Virgen Milagrosa Chapel on July 3, 2026, for the First Friday Mass—a meaningful pause from the busy school routine to reflect, pray, and reconnect with God. The celebration reminded students, faculty, and staff that while striving for academic excellence, faith remains the school's strongest foundation.

With hearts renewed and spirits uplifted, everyone left the chapel ready to face the month ahead with purpose, gratitude, and hope—proving that at VMSSHS, faith always comes first.

GOLDEN ARROWS, GREATER DREAMS

With every arrow she releases, Leila Jell Caguioa Cano continues to prove that hard work, discipline, and perseverance lead to success.

In 2026, Leila earned Rank 1 in the Philippine National Youth Team (U18) during the PSC-WAP National Team Selection in Marikina City. She also became the National Record Holder for the Women's 72 Arrows – 60-Meter Under-18 event.

Her impressive year included multiple podium finishes at the National PRISAA, where she won a gold medal in the 70-meter event and several silver medals in individual and overall categories. At the Palarong Pambansa 2026, she captured gold medals in the 30-Meter Distance, 1440 Round Overall, and Olympic Round, while setting records in the 30-Meter Distance and 1440 Round (FITA Star).

Leila's success continued at the PSC-WAP Philippine Archery Championships in Sorsogon, where she added more gold, silver, and bronze medals to her growing collection.

Despite her achievements, Leila remains grounded. During difficult training sessions, she draws motivation from her dreams and the unwavering support of her family, coaches, teammates, school, city, and province.

Challenges and setbacks have also shaped her journey. Rather than dwelling on disappointments, she views them as opportunities to grow stronger and improve.

More than collecting medals, Leila hopes to leave a legacy of inspiration—encouraging young athletes to dream big, stay humble, and never give up.

For Leila, success is not just about winning; it is about rising after every setback and continuing to aim higher.
