How can you join?

*DEADLINE ON OR BEFORE NOVEMBER 15, 2020 (5P.M. ONLY)
*ONLY 20 ENTRIES WILL BE ACCOMMODATED ON A FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE BASIS
Mechanics and guidelines:
1. The spoken poetry competition is ONLINE, SOLO and OPEN TO 12-17 YEARS OLD SAN CARLEÑANS.
2. Spoken Poetry entry must be an original composition. It may be written in English or Filipino or a combination thereof revolving around the theme “TEENAGE PREGNANCY.”
3. Participants should prepare and submit a 3-5-minute pre-recorded video together with the written copy of it (soft copy) through the given link.
4. The use of vulgar, indecent and malicious words is strictly prohibited.
5. Participants may opt to use sound, instrumental or musical background to complement delivery.
6. All entries once submitted shall be owned by the organizers and they shall have the right to use them for future purposes.
7. Judging will be done on November 26, 2020.
8. Announcement of winners shall be through SMS notification and online posting but they will be asked to receive their cash prizes, plaques and token face-to-face on November 27, 2020.
9. 40% of the total score will be coming from ANY of the Facebook Reactions. The remaining 60% will be judged according to the following:
Content – 30%
Delivery – 20%
Voice Variation – 10%
10. Cash prizes are as follow:
Champion: Php5,000.00
1st Runner Up: Php3,500.00
2nd Runner Up: Php2,000.00
3rd-10th Place: Php750.00
11th – 20th Place: Certificate and Token of Appreciation

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT! || In line with the vision of the Local Government of San Carlos City through the leadership of our good mayor, Hon. Julier "Ayoy" Resuello, the City Population Officer, Dra. Luisa Cayabyab spearheaded the SHAPE Program which aims to teach young people to be responsible and be aware of issues in society aimed at gender sensitivity, adolecent related issues, teenage pregnancy and many more.
It is also in line with the "Linggo ng Kabataan" which is observed all throughout the country.
Participants for this year's SHAPE are SK Chairpersons and Officials who play a vital role in youth development in their Barangays.

To ensure that the young people are provided with the right opportunities, educated with correct information and empowered to make better decisions even during the pandemic, the City Population Office of San Carlos, Pangasinan initiated the conduct of the Sexually Healthy and Personally Empowered (SHAPE) Adolescents' Training among the groups of guidance counselors, SK Officers and young professionals on August 4-6, 11-13 & 18-20, 2020 at San Carlos City Youth Center.
