Recently, I’ve been thinking about the tension between the US and Venezuela, and honestly, it leaves me uneasy—not because of politics alone, but because of what it says about our world.
Behind every headline are people who wake up just wanting food on the table, safety for their children, and hope that tomorrow will be better than today. Yet once again, they become collateral damage in a struggle for power, oil, and influence. Sanctions tighten, threats escalate, and it’s never the powerful who feel the hunger first—it’s the ordinary families.
What scares me most is how familiar this pattern feels. Pressure instead of dialogue. Force instead of understanding. And every time this happens, global stability becomes more fragile. It sends a message that peace depends on power, not empathy—that some voices matter more than others.
In a world already burdened by wars, climate disasters, rising prices, and displacement, conflicts like this feel like another crack in the foundation we all stand on. When tensions rise between powerful nations, the effects ripple everywhere—fuel prices climb, economies shake, fear grows, and trust between countries slowly erodes.
I keep asking myself: haven’t we learned anything? How many times do we need to see that domination doesn’t bring peace, only deeper wounds? Global stability isn’t built on who wins a conflict—it’s built on how many lives are protected, how much dignity is preserved, and whether compassion is allowed to guide decisions.
Until empathy carries as much weight as power, the world will continue to feel unstable—like we’re always one mistake away from something we can’t undo.

Lately, the weather feels unfamiliar. The heat comes in waves that linger too long, pressing on our skin and draining our energy. Then, without warning, the skies open up—heavy rains flood streets, homes, and fields we once thought were safe. Storms are stronger now, angrier somehow. What we used to call “unusual” has quietly become part of the routine.
I see it in small, everyday ways. Farmers watched months of hard work wash away in a single night. Workers braving scorching sun or knee-deep floods just to get home and earn a living. Families lying awake during storms, listening to the wind and rain, wondering if their roof will hold, if the water will rise. Children growing up thinking this is normal—this unpredictable, uneasy climate—never knowing the seasons the way we once did.
Climate change no longer feels like a distant issue talked about on the news or in textbooks. It’s here. We feel it on our skin, in our homes, in the quiet stress we carry when the weather turns. This isn’t about blame. It’s about awareness, and the shared responsibility we all hold, even in small ways.
Just today in Vallehermoso, whole parts of town were overtaken by flooding as river waters rose and spilled into homes and roads — and all this before the rain had even stopped.
And in Bindoy, heavy rains didn’t just flood roads — they triggered landslides and shifts in the earth itself, leaving parts of the highway barely passable and reminding us that even the ground under our feet isn’t immune to these changing patterns.
Caring for the environment is no longer optional—it’s an act of love and protection for the generations who will inherit what we choose to preserve today.

As the New Year arrives, not everyone welcomes it with fireworks, noise, or a table full of food.
Some greet the New Year tired—tired from working overtime just to make ends meet, tired from choosing which bill to pay and which one to delay, tired from smiling for their family while silently carrying worries no one sees.
This New Year is also for those quietly fighting battles within their own bodies.
For those waking up to pain, treatments, or uncertainty.
For those who measure their days not by celebrations, but by strength, courage, and hope.
For those who keep going even when their bodies feel weak, but their hearts refuse to give up.
This New Year is for the ordinary people.
For the parents who set aside their own dreams so their children can keep theirs.
For the workers who show up every day even when life feels heavy.
For those who lost something—or someone—but still choose to move forward.
For those who survived, even when surviving was already hard enough.
You may not have achieved everything you hoped for this year. You may still be healing, still struggling, still figuring things out.
And that’s okay.
The New Year is not just about new beginnings—it’s about honoring how far you’ve come despite everything that tried to stop you. Every quiet sacrifice, every unseen effort, every sleepless night, every tear wiped away in private mattered.
So if this New Year finds you with simple hopes, a tired heart, or a body still healing—know this:
You are strong. You are seen. You are enough. And your story is far from over.
Here’s to a New Year that is kinder, gentler, and more compassionate to all of us who are simply doing our best.

They said I wouldn’t make it.
They said people like me
Just dreams too big for the pocket I had.
I remember the looks —
the smirks, the pity, the quiet laughter
when I spoke of what I wanted to become.
They saw my shoes, torn at the edges,
and thought they could measure my future
by the cracks on my soles.
But what they didn’t see…
was the fire I kept hidden —
burning beneath every failure,
every sleepless night,
every moment I swallowed pain instead of pride.
I worked when no one cared to notice.
I kept going when no one believed.
Because I learned early —
you don’t need applause to build an empire.
You just need faith…
and the courage to keep walking
when your legs already tremble.
Then one day — silence.
The laughter stopped.
The same mouths that once doubted
now whisper my name with awe.
The same eyes that looked down on me
now search for mine with respect.
And I…
I stand not to gloat,
but to remember.
That the world only believes in you
after you’ve already won.
So if you’re out there,
starting from nothing —
let them doubt you.
Let them mock you.
Because one day,
you’ll thank them —
for giving you the reason
to rise.

No study desk, no quiet corner, just the determination to keep moving toward his dreams.
While the day rushes on around him, he chooses to focus on the one thing that can change his life:
E D U C A T I O N.
His story is a reminder that sometimes, the strongest light doesn’t come from a lamp, but from the hope burning inside.
