Building a School Free from Violence*
_A reminder for all parents & guardians_

Our children learn best when they feel safe. Safety starts at home. Let’s work together to keep our school violence-free.

*1. Model Respect at Home*
Teach β€œkind words, listening ears, gentle hands.” Children copy what they see. No hitting, pushing, or hurtful jokes β€” even at home.

*2. Talk About Bullying Daily*
Ask: β€œHow was your day? Was anyone unkind to you or others?” Assure your child they won’t get in trouble for speaking up.

*3. Guide Media & Game Choices*
Monitor shows, games, and videos. Talk about the difference between pretend violence and real-life consequences.

*4. Partner With the School*
Read the school’s anti-bullying policy. Know your child’s teacher, guidance counselor, and safety protocols. Report concerns early.

*5. Teach Healthy Emotions*
Help kids say β€œI’m angry/frustrated” instead of hitting. Practice: stop, breathe, walk away, ask a teacher for help.

*6. Watch for Warning Signs*
Fear of school, lost items, unexplained bruises, or sudden anger can signal a problem. Talk to your child and the teacher.

*7. Promote Inclusion*
Teach your child to include others, stand up for classmates being teased, and respect differences. Everyone belongs.

*8. Be Part of the Solution*
Join PTA, safety drives, and school activities. Remember: β€œKids will be kids” is not an excuse for violence. Every child deserves safety.

---

*Our Teamwork = Safer Kids*
Home teaches respect β†’ School teaches lessons β†’ Kids learn in peace

For questions or concerns, please contact your child’s teacher or the Guidance Office.
