Before we end the year 2022, Project LABAN ON launches ANTI-DRUG, SMOKING, and ALCOHOL CAMPAIGN through INFOGRAPHICS!
For the month of December 2022, the BKD of the school conducted the "Anti-Drug, Smoking and Alcohol Campaign through Infographics Making" for all its learners from December 5-9, 2022.
This activity's main objectives are to raise awareness about the major challenges that illicit drugs, alcohol, and smoking represent not only to the learners but also to society. This activity is to mobilize support and inspire people to act against drug, alcohol and cigarette use through infographics.

Abanon National High School’s Barkada Kontra Droga and National Drug Education Program conducted the Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week with this year’s theme: “Addressing the Drug Challenges in Health and Humanitarian Crises” on November 13-19, 2022.

To mark the occasion, educational and social activities were carried out:

1. Film showing as the highlight of the celebration to intensify the educational campaign against drug abuse; and
2. Essay writing and poster making depicting the theme.

The film showing was chaired by the BKD and NDEP teacher-advisers, Ms. Jenny Lynn I. Aquino and Mrs. Jossa Roselle U. Colinares. The essay writing was chaired by the Filipino and Araling Panlipunan teacher in Junior High School, Mr. Mark F. Caguioa, and the poster making was chaired by the Science teacher in Senior High School, Ms. Frizzan Khael C. Soriano.

Abanon National High School’s Barkada Kontra Droga conducted the Spiritual and Moral Recovery Program on October 27, 2022. This program aimed to improve the spiritual and moral development of the learners by incorporating human values and awakening these values in achieving a drug-free lifestyle. It also aimed to educate the learners not only in academics but also in spirituality so that they can easily get away with drugs, alcohol, and smoking.

Abanon NHS strongly believes teaching lessons in morals and spirituality give the learners a spiritual and moral sense and will undoubtedly make them better individuals.

The school would like to thank our competent resource speakers, Mrs. Charito A. Tamayo and Mr. Raquel V. Abrenica. The lectures of the two speakers mainly focused on affirming the students' unique gift of faith and showing them how to live a life of faith in God. It also helped the students understand the importance of human dignity in their lives.

According to the 2021 Young Adult Fertility and Sexuality Study of the UPPI, of every 10 young adult Filipinos, only three are currently drinking, one is smoking and close to none is using illegal drugs.

Project LABAN ON is now in its second year!

Effective drug education is crucial because there are numerous pressures on young people to use both legal and illegal substances. In order to create a normative culture of safety, moderation, and informed decision-making, drug awareness and prevention can act as a counterbalancing force.

For the month of September 2022, the BKD of the school conducted the "Flyer Distribution for Drug Awareness and Prevention" for all its learners from September 28-29, 2022.

The main objectives of this activity are to increase drug awareness among learners and to educate and disseminate facts and information on the effects of illegal drugs.

Special thanks to Pangasinan Provincial Hospital, through Dr. Mark Lyndon B. Baguio, District Nurse Coordinator (PPH-Public Health Service) for the content of the school's flyers.
