The DepEd Order #31, series of 2018 otherwise known as the Policy Guidelines on the Implementation of Comprehensive Sexuality Education, was enacted pursuant to the provisions of the RP-RH Act of 2012, aims to deliver comprehensive sexuality education for the young learners.
Hence, the School Disaster Risk Reduction and Management with the collaboration of other National Organizations and agencies like Rural Health Units have met in common goal to address issues and concern about STDs as they may seem symptoms of HIV-AIDS. Teenage pregnancy case is another serious problem to be addressed. In January 2023, the school had been anonymously informed by the Rural Health Unit of Kapalong (RHU) about the two cases of STD- gonorrhea to be exact. The latter is referred to Grade 10 students. Moreover, the school had recorded cases of teenage pregnancy in the past 3 years. There were 3 recorded teenage pregnancy cases during the last school year (2022-2023). The administration aims to stop this issue and the trend!
In this regard, the school conducted a one-day school- based Orientation on Sexuality and Symposium on the Prevention of STDs (Sexually Transmitted Diseases), HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), and Teen-age Pregnancy.
