𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 29, 2026 | 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐓 2026

Freshmen, transferees, and returnees gathered at the Recoletos Coliseum, Basak Campus, as they took part in 𝐂𝐎𝐋𝐋𝐄𝐆𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐊𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐈𝐌𝐀𝐌𝐀𝐓 2026 on Saturday, August 29, 2026.

The event welcomed students into the Josenian community, giving them the opportunity to meet and get to know the University’s administrators and staff, discover the various services offered by the institution, and learn more about the values, traditions, and community that make up the USJ-R experience.

Anchored on the theme, “𝐉𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐲: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐱𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐨𝐬 𝐖𝐚𝐲,” the students embarked on a new chapter, one that encourages them to build meaningful connections, embrace the Josenian spirit, and pursue excellence guided by love, faith, and solidarity.

Spearheaded by the Student Development and Placement Center (SDPC), the event featured the formal introduction of the University’s religious and lay administrators, the deans of each school, and the 45th President and Officers of the Supreme Student Council (SSC).

As they begin their journey as members of the Josenian community, may every student carry with them the spirit of love, excellence, and solidarity, the Recoletos way.

For the Protection of Our Schools and Children

Almighty and loving Father, You are our refuge and strength, our help in times of fear and distress.

We come before You with troubled hearts because of the violence and shootings that have brought fear to our schools, families, and communities.

Lord, protect our children and young people. Keep them safe wherever they study, play, and gather. Grant wisdom and vigilance to parents, teachers, school personnel, and all entrusted with their care.

Comfort those who have been wounded and traumatized, and console families and communities living in grief and fear.

Touch those who carry anger, hatred, loneliness, or thoughts of harming themselves or others. Send them people who will listen and help, and lead them toward healing, peace, and hope.

Grant wisdom and courage to our government officials, law-enforcement agencies, school authorities, and Church leaders. Help us recognize warning signs, address the causes of violence,
protect the vulnerable, and never remain indifferent.

Make our homes places of love and prayer, our schools places of safety and formation, and our communities places where every life is valued and protected.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, watch over us.
Señor Santo Niño, protect the children of Cebu and keep them close to Your loving heart.

Our Josenian Orientation Series for academic year 2026-2027 concludes with this vital learning session on how to navigate the tools that will help you thrive here in USJ-R. 💚

Our invited resource speakers were Mr. Violdan Bayocos (LMS) and Mr. Mark Vincent Bueno (SIS) who gave our freshies the important lowdown on these Josenian digital platforms.

The morning session with the School of Business and Management was attended virtually by ✨𝟖𝟑𝟕 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬✨, while the afternoon session was attended by SAMS, SAS, SED, SEA, and SCS which yielded to a total of ✨𝟕𝟐𝟑 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐬. ✨

Our department would like to sincerely extend our gratitude to all our partners, resource speakers, volunteers, and Josenian freshies in the overall success of our weeklong orientation drive.

August 5, 2026 | 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐮𝐬 𝐒𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

A total of ✨𝟏,𝟖𝟗𝟔 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐬✨(1,009 students in the morning session; 887 students in the afternoon session) gathered in the Recoletos Coliseum for the third leg of our Josenian Orientation Series featuring the Campus Safety Guidelines and Library System Orientation.

The Campus Safety Guidelines session was facilitated by Dr. Bryan C. Maningo, LPT, Chief of the USJ-R Safety & Security Dept. "SSD". Dr. Maningo shared essential safety protocols and emergency preparedness measures to help students foster a secure and responsible campus environment. ✨

The 2nd half of the orientation was in collaboration with the USJ-R Library System. The session conducted by Dr. Marline G. Roma, RL, Director of Libraries along with our campus librarians. Their department introduced the library's services, resources, and systems, encouraging students to maximize these tools in support of their academic success.

With the active participation of our dear Josenians, the event marked another successful step in welcoming and preparing our newest members of the Josenian community for a safe, productive, and meaningful college journey. 💚

A total of 𝟏,𝟗𝟕𝟔 freshmen, transferees, and returnees gathered at Recoletos Center for Arts and Culture in the Main Campus 6 as they have their 2nd day of orientation to learn about the OSAS Guidelines and Josenian Insurance Policy Orientation that upholds the identity of a Josenian student.

From understanding student rights and responsibilities, to embracing the core values of discipline, respect, and service—this session reminds us that being a Josenian is more than just wearing the uniform. It's about character, community, and commitment.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our speakers: Mr. Wyian Bucog of the Phil-British Insurance Corp., our Student Discipline Officers from the USJ-R Office of Student Affairs and Services, and SSC - Committee on Insurance Representatives for sharing their insights on discipline, student insurance coverage, and what it truly means to live by Josenian policies.

May you carry these lessons with us as you begin your journey with respect, integrity, and pride, Josenians!
