โIn celebration of Samal Island City Collegeโs 8th Founding Anniversary and in observance of Arbor Day, SICC personnel, together with Barangay Officials, successfully conducted the 3rd Community-Based Mangrove Conservation and Coastal Clean-Up last September 23, 2026, at Purok 2, Barangay Cawag, Island Garden City of Samal.
โA total of 300 mangrove seedlings were planted during the activity, reinforcing the collegeโs commitment to environmental stewardship and coastal resilience.
โThis initiative forms part of the Community Development & Governance programโa core component of the Bachelor of Public Administration (BPA) community extension banner program. It was also integrated into the Environmental Management course to give students hands-on experience in protecting and restoring the island's vital marine ecosystems.
โThis impactful endeavor was made possible through the collaboration with the City Mayor's Office and the City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) - IGaCoS.
โTogether, we protect our shores, serve our community, and build a greener future! ๐๐
