University of Mindanao Peñaplata College (UM Peñaplata College) is a private, non-sectarian school in the Island Garden City of Samal, Davao del Norte. It was established in 1950 and is part of the University of Mindanao System. The campus was established together with the campus in Tagum, and was formerly known as the University of Mindanao Peñaplata Junior College until it was renamed to its present name in 1999. At present, UM Peñaplata College offers CHED-recognized bachelor's degree programs in Business Administration, Elementary Education, and Secondary Education and TESDA-recognized Program in Hotel and Restaurant Services. It has a Senior High School (SHS) program with selected strands from the Academic and the Technical-Vocational-Livelihood (TVL) tracks. It also offers Post Graduate Studies such as Master in Business Administration, MA in Education major in Educational Mgt., Mathematics and English. As our institution enters a new chapter, we proudly recognize Ma'am Marynel C. Comidoy, PhD, newly designated as Dean of College, and Ma'am Clares Fe E. Asdang, MAEd, newly designated as Senior High School Principal.

With their experience, dedication, and commitment to the academic community, they take on these new responsibilities with the opportunity to further guide and strengthen their respective divisions, carrying with them the institution's 4Gs: Galing, Gawi, Gawa, Gana.

As they assume their new roles, may they continue to lead with purpose, integrity, and a steadfast commitment to our students and institution.

SAO ANNOUNCEMENT | CHED TDP & TES GRANTEES LEAVE OF ABSENCE

ATTENTION: ALL CHED TDP AND TES GRANTEES WHO DID NOT ENROLL FOR THE 1st SEMESTER, SY 2026–2027

The Application for Leave of Absence is now available.

Kindly follow the steps below:

1. Secure a Leave of Absence Form from the Student Accounting Office.
2. Complete only the Student Information and Leave of Absence Information sections. Please do not fill out the TES/TDP Award Number section.
3. Have the form signed by your Program Head, Dean, and the Registrar.
4. Submit the fully accomplished form to the Student Accounting Office.

Note: If you have already graduated, please disregard this announcement.

Deadline for submission: September 30, 2026.

IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
• Failure to submit the required form may result in the termination of your grant.
• To continue receiving the grant, a grantee must be enrolled for at least one (1) semester per school year.

Online payment via GCash remains available. However, please note that Official Receipts will only be issued once the payment is reflected in the school’s bank account, within 3–5 banking days.

Cashier transactions will resume on September 14, 2026 (Monday).

UM Peñaplata College convenes for the Year-end Management Report 2026 on institutional accomplishments, strategic goals

Upholding the mandates of the quality management system and in recognition of the institution's accomplishments and scholastic goals, UM Peñaplata College held its Year-end Management Report on September 2, 2026, at the campus Conference Room. The school's different offices and departments presented their respective accomplishments, key performance indicators, and target outcomes for the academic year.

The convention was attended by the Quality Management Council (QMC) representatives of the University of Mindanao - Main Branch: Vice President of the Research and Innovation Center, Linda B. Arquiza, and Vice President of the Community Extension Center, Sitti Rogaiya L. Apadan.

Together with the branch administrators, the council evaluated unit performances to refine future operational targets and maintain high academic standards, signifying the shared commitment and dedication of the institution to excellence.

The UM Peñaplata College – Security and Safety Office announces the implementation of the Online Vehicle Sticker Application for SY 2026–2027.

All vehicle owners are reminded to secure their official vehicle sticker before entering the campus.

📅 Effective November 3, 2026:
❌ NO STICKER, NO ENTRY.

We encourage students, faculty, staff, and other authorized vehicle users to complete the online vehicle sticker application process ahead of the implementation date to ensure smooth and hassle-free campus entry.

Your safety and security are our priority.

For the complete Guidelines and Procedures, please refer to the official announcement materials and follow the instructions provided by the Security and Safety Office.
