Assumption Academy of Peñaplata was filled with a sense of pride and nostalgia as it celebrated its Recognition and Moving Up Ceremony 🎉, highlighting the achievements of its Grade 10 students. The ceremony commenced with the warm welcome from Sr. Maria Lourdes Remotigue , the Principal and Directress, who expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the students on their accomplishments 👏. ✨AAP Juniors Masquerade Promenade 2025

On April 8, 2025, the AAP Juniors Masquerade Promenade was a night to remember, held at the picturesque Camp Holiday in Samal. This enchanting event brought together students for a celebration filled with elegance, excitement, and unforgettable moments.

The highlight of the evening was the crowning of the Prom King and Queen, with Reina Kaye Alingalan and Clark Galo taking the honors. They were recognized not only for their charm and grace but also for their leadership and spirit within the school community.

Special recognitions added to the festivities, with Jaden Brillantes named the Gentleman of the Night for his style and character, while Angel Vemarie Canoy was awarded the Lady of the Night, celebrated for her poise and elegance. Additionally, Kenji Orong and Nicole Pareja earned the title of Head Turners of the Night, captivating everyone with their stunning attire and charismatic presence.

The Masquerade Promenade was not just about titles; it was about creating lasting memories. Guests danced the night away under a canopy of stars, enjoying a beautifully decorated venue filled with vibrant colors and intricate designs. Book Lovers' Day Celebrated with Festive Fair and Competitions

– Bookworms and literary enthusiasts gathered last March 6, 2025 for a vibrant celebration of Book Lovers' Day. The event, held at AAP Hall, featured a cost-free book fair, offering a wide selection of titles for attendees to browse and purchase. The afternoon continued with a program including a prayer, opening remarks, and a series of engaging competitions. Participants showcased their creativity in a book character cosplay runway, tested their knowledge in the Great Book Quiz Challenge, and demonstrated their public speaking skills in the Book Talk Challenge. The day concluded with an awards ceremony, recognizing outstanding performances in each competition. The event was a resounding success, drawing a large crowd and fostering a strong sense of community among book lovers.

English Week Celebration Bridges Cultures Through Language

– A vibrant celebration of English as a global language unfolded today at AAP English CLub Event with the culmination of English Week. Under the theme "English as a Global Language: Bridging Cultures, Connecting the World," the event showcased the power of language to unite diverse communities.

The day began with a flag ceremony at 7:00 a.m., followed by an institutional mass. After a brief recess, the main event commenced with a lively parade at 10:00 a.m., setting the energetic tone for the day.

The program included a series of engaging competitions designed to test and showcase English language skills. These included a physical spelling bee, radio broadcasting segments, and creative writing competitions for story and poem making. Students also displayed their talents in spoken poetry, declamation, and extemporaneous speaking. The winners were announced and their winning pieces were read aloud, highlighting creativity and linguistic prowess.

The event concluded with closing remarks at 4:00pm, leaving attendees with a renewed appreciation for the unifying power of English and the importance of intercultural understanding. The success of the English Week Celebration underscored the dedication of AAP English Club Moderator and officers to fostering global citizenship and communication skills among its students. The enthusiastic participation of students and faculty demonstrated the importance placed on language learning and its role in bridging cultures.

~ Assumption Academy's Dagahuya Secures DAVRAA Spot After Nail-Biting City Chess Victory ~

– Jhay Anne Hyacinth Dagahuya, a chess player from Assumption Academy of Peñaplata, is heading to the DAVRAA (Division Athletic Association of Region XI) competition as part of the SAMAL WAVES team after a stunning victory at the recent city chess meet. Her path to DAVRAA wasn't without its challenges, however, as Dagahuya faced a nail-biting finish in the city competition.

Dagahuya's chess journey began with a decisive win at the district meet, showcasing her talent and strategic prowess. But the city meet proved to be a different beast. Facing stiff competition, she found herself in a tense final match, nearly relinquishing her hard-earned lead.

Despite the pressure and the near-miss, Dagahuya’s unwavering belief in herself shone through. She managed to pull through, securing the victory and earning her place on the SAMAL WAVES team heading to DAVRAA. Her resilience and determination serve as an inspiration to aspiring chess players and athletes alike.

Now, as part of the SAMAL WAVES team, Dagahuya prepares for the challenges of the DAVRAA competition. The entire Peñaplata community is behind her, celebrating her grit and looking forward to her performance in Tagum City. The DAVRAA competition will be held on March 1 or 2 (pendinh dates).
