𝗦𝗦𝗖 𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 | 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀

The Eastern Samar State University - Salcedo Campus has issued Memorandum No. 2026-SSAA 07, dated July 16, 2026, announcing the implementation of enhanced campus safety and security guidelines for all students, faculty, and non-teaching personnel.

The directive outlines the following key measures:
• Mandatory wearing of school identification cards within campus premises
• Compliance with security screenings and inspections
• Immediate reporting of suspicious activities, objects, or behavior
• Adherence to all established school protocols and instructions

The memorandum also reiterates the prohibition of weapons, explosives, hazardous substances, alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, and other items that may pose risks to health and safety.

These measures are implemented to maintain a safe, secure, and conducive learning environment for the entire academic community. All concerned are advised to observe strict compliance.

𝗢𝗙𝗙𝗜𝗖𝗜𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗧𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧

The Supreme Student Council (SSC) of Eastern Samar State University – Salcedo Campus informs the university community that yesterday, the Council received a series of threatening messages from an unidentified social media account through its official page.

The individual initially inquired about a confiscated student identification (ID) card. However, the conversation quickly escalated as the sender resorted to profane and abusive language before issuing explicit death threats against all SSC officers. The sender also referenced the recent school shooting incident in Tacloban, threatening that SSC officers would be the next victims and claiming that the attack would be carried out next week or the following week. Furthermore, the individual claimed that they would not be imprisoned because they are allegedly a minor.

The Supreme Student Council strongly condemns these threats in the strongest possible terms. Threats of violence, particularly those directed toward students and school officials, are serious offenses that endanger the safety and well-being of the entire university community. Such acts will never be tolerated and are being treated with the utmost seriousness.

Immediately upon receiving the threats, the Council coordinated with the University Administration and the appropriate legal authorities to ensure that the incident is thoroughly investigated and that appropriate legal and disciplinary actions are pursued against the individual responsible.

The Council also wishes to clarify concerns regarding the temporary confiscation of student identification cards during university activities. Student IDs may be collected as part of established event management and security procedures to ensure that students who leave the venue return to participate in the activity. Students who comply with the prescribed procedures and communicate appropriately are able to reclaim their IDs accordingly.

To the individual responsible for these messages, if these statements were intended merely as a joke or prank, the Council emphasizes that threats involving violence, murder, or school shootings are never humorous. Such statements create fear, disrupt the peace and security of the university community, and may constitute criminal offenses regardless of the sender's intent or claimed age.

The Supreme Student Council also reminds all students that the Council remains open to receiving concerns, complaints, suggestions, and grievances through the appropriate channels. We firmly believe that dialogue, mutual respect, and due process are the proper means of resolving misunderstandings. Violence, intimidation, and threats have no place in an academic institution.

The Supreme Student Council remains steadfast in its commitment to fostering a safe, peaceful, and inclusive environment for all ESSUdyantes. We call on every member of the university community to remain vigilant, refrain from spreading unverified information, and allow the appropriate authorities to conduct a fair and impartial investigation.

𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻, 𝗚𝗮𝘁 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗹, 𝗮𝘁 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝘄 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼!

Nawa'y isapuso at isagawa natin ang katagang "Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan." Maging inspirasyon sana ang buhay at mga adhikain ni José Rizal upang patuloy nating paunlarin ang ating sarili, pairalin ang pagmamahal sa bayan, at maging mabuting huwaran sa kapwa.

Sa pamamagitan ng edukasyon, disiplina, at aktibong pakikilahok sa lipunan, maipapakita ng kabataan ang kanilang mahalagang papel sa paghubog ng mas maunlad, makatarungan, at mas maliwanag na kinabukasan para sa Pilipinas.

𝗥𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝘁 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻: 𝗣𝗮𝗴-𝗮𝘀𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗻

Ngayong ika-19 ng Hunyo, sabay na ipinagdiriwang ang 𝗞𝗮𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗶 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗥𝗶𝘇𝗮𝗹 at ang 𝗔𝗿𝗮𝘄 𝗻𝗴 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗼 - isang mahalagang araw na nagpapaalala sa papel ng kabataan sa paghubog ng kinabukasan ng bansa.

Si Rizal ay isang bayani, manunulat, at iskolar na gumamit ng kanyang talino upang ipaglaban ang kalayaan at katarungan. Sa pamamagitan ng kanyang mga akda tulad ng Noli Me Tangere at El Filibusterismo, ibinunyag niya ang mga suliranin ng lipunan at nagmulat sa damdaming makabayan ng mga Pilipino. Ang kanyang mga aral ay nakatuon sa edukasyon, pagmamahal sa bayan, at mapanuring pag-iisip.

Ang Araw ng Kabataang Pilipino ay itinatag upang iugnay ang kabataan sa diwa ni Rizal. Sa bisa ng Proklamasyon Blg. 75 noong 1948, kinikilala ang kabataan bilang mahalagang bahagi ng pag-unlad ng bansa - mga kabataang dapat maging responsable, makabayan, at handang maglingkod sa lipunan.

Sa kasalukuyan, maraming hamon ang kinakaharap ng kabataang Pilipino: problema sa edukasyon, limitadong access sa serbisyong pangkalusugan, kahirapan, korapsyon, at mga banta ng kalamidad at climate change. Dagdag pa rito ang mga isyung panlipunan na nakaaapekto sa kalayaan at partisipasyon ng kabataan.

Sa kabila nito, nananatiling mahalaga ang kabataan bilang pag-asa ng bayan. Ngunit ang pag-asang ito ay hindi lamang inaasahan - ito ay isinasabuhay. Sa pamamagitan ng pakikilahok, pagtatanong sa mali, at pagtatanggol sa tama, naipapakita ng kabataan ang tunay na diwa ng pagdiriwang na ito.

Sa huli, ang kaarawan ni Rizal at Araw ng Kabataang Pilipino ay paalala na ang pag-asa ng bayan ay hindi lamang nasa kabataan, kundi nasa sama-samang pagkilos ng bawat Pilipino para sa mas maayos at makatarungang kinabukasan.
