DepEd Abas National High School on ADM (Day 3).

August 19, 2026 | With then continunous gloomy weather caused by and , for everyone's safety, in-person classes or face-to-face classes are still suspended in the province of Abra. But learning never stops outside the four walls of the classrooms for our Abasians. Our respected teachers did various ways to extend the learning opportunity to our learners inside their houses through Alternative Learning Mode. Giving of activities for learning growth and online classes via Google Meet because an opening door for our learners to continue pursuing their desire of learning.
Way to go, Abasians. Keep on learning.

ALTERNATIVE WORK ARRANGEMENTS FOR GOVERNMENT OFFICES, ALTERNATIVE LEARNING MODES FOR SCHOOLS ON AUGUST 20

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 131, government offices are directed to implement appropriate alternative work arrangements in the National Capital Region and the following provinces on August 20, 2026:

๐Ÿ“ Ilocos Sur
๐Ÿ“ La Union
๐Ÿ“ Pangasinan
๐Ÿ“ Bataan
๐Ÿ“ Bulacan
๐Ÿ“ Nueva Ecija
๐Ÿ“ Pampanga
๐Ÿ“ Tarlac
๐Ÿ“ Zambales
๐Ÿ“ Batangas
๐Ÿ“ Cavite
๐Ÿ“ Laguna
๐Ÿ“ Rizal
๐Ÿ“ Occidental Mindoro

Unless otherwise directed by their respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes for classes and learning continuity measures at all levels in public and private schools shall be implemented in the aforementioned areas.

Agencies involved in the delivery of basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue their operations and render the necessary services.

Contract of Service (COS) and Job Order (JO) workers placed under alternative work arrangements shall be paid their corresponding wages or salaries, subject to applicable rules and regulations.

The suspension of work or adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector shall be left to the discretion of management.

Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 129 of the Office of the President, government offices in Abra shall implement appropriate alternative work arrangements on August 19, 2026, due to continued heavy rainfall associated with the enhanced Southwest Monsoon.

For schools in Abra: Unless otherwise directed by the respective Local Chief Executives, alternative learning modes and learning continuity measures shall be implemented for all levels in both public and private schools.

Agencies providing basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services shall continue operations.

Meanwhile, the adoption of alternative work arrangements in the private sector remains at the discretion of management.

The measure covers Abra and other areas identified under MC No. 129.

August 17, 2026 | Despite the cancellation of face-to-face classes due to inclement weather caused by Southwest Monsoon or popularly known as Habagat, learning never stopped outside the four walls of classrooms for our Abasians. Our respected teachers did various ways to extend the learning opportunity to our learners inside their houses through Alternative Learning Mode. Giving of activities for learning growth and online classes via Google Meet because an opening door for our learners to continue pursuing their desire of learning.

The Provincial Government of Abra suspends face-to-face classes in all public and private schools from Kindergarten to Senior High School on August 18, 2026, upon the recommendation of DepEd-Abra, for the safety of learners and school personnel.

Schools are advised to implement Alternative Delivery Modes (ADM) in accordance with DepEd guidelines to ensure learning continuity.

This precautionary measure is also in view of PAGASAโ€™s forecast of occasional to frequent rains over Abra due to the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat), with possible moderate to heavy rains that may cause flash floods or landslides.

The Provincial Government of Abra suspends onsite face-to-face classes in all public and private schools from Kindergarten to Senior High School on August 17, 2026, upon the recommendation of DepEd-Abra, to ensure the safety and well-being of learners and school personnel.

Schools are advised to implement Alternative Delivery Modes (ADM), when conditions permit, in accordance with DepEd guidelines.

This is pursuant to DepEd Order No. 022, s. 2024, particularly Section 1, Article I, which provides for the suspension of in-person classes during disasters and emergencies while ensuring learning continuity through appropriate alternative delivery modalities.

Transition from Quarter to Three Terms

Teachers of DepEd Abas National High School conducted a LAC Session on the transition of all DepEd schools from a quarterly system to a three-term school calendar.

Charlemagne B. Buenafe and Rodelito C. Britos, both Teacher VI, served as the resource speakers for the session under the supervision of Melany Bejarin-Aspiras, TIC of the school.

Mr. Buenafe gave an overview of the transition to the three-term system and discussed the changes in the Lesson Plan, particularly the use of the ILAW Framework. Meanwhile, Mr. Britos presented an example of an ILAW-designed Lesson Plan to help teachers gain a better understanding of its application.
