Every Reaction Has Reached Its Completion. Every Future Is Just Beginning.

Some journeys are measured in years. Yours was measured in laboratory hours, sleepless nights, countless calculations, failed experiments that became valuable lessons, and the determination to keep moving forward.

The MSU-Marawi Chemistry Department proudly celebrates the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry Graduating Class of 2026. We celebrate not only what you have accomplished, but also the countless futures you will help shape through science.

Chemistry is a discipline where precision matters, curiosity is constantly tested, and every discovery is built upon a strong foundation. Each experiment, every lab report, and every challenge has shaped you into professionals ready to make a difference.

Congratulations, BS Chemistry Class of 2026!

May your passion continue to ignite discovery, your integrity guide every decision, and your love for chemistry transform the world, one experiment, one innovation, and one life at a time.

Science Transforming Futures. Today, that future is you.

A 10 on the Mohs hardness scale is almost impossible to break, much like the standards of a BS Chemistry program.

Huge congratulations to our standout BS Chemistry graduands of A.Y. 2025–2026 who made the impossible look effortless:

💎 FAIZALEA T. BANI | Magna Cum Laude
💎 ASNIA C. AMIN | Cum Laude

BS Chemistry | Class of 2025–2026 | Batch Rinayag

They took the pressure, formed the strongest bonds, and came out shining as pure diamond.

Congratulations, Faizalea and Asnia, on showing us what science transforming futures truly looks like!

BS Chemistry Interview Invites are OUT!

To all our prospective BS Chemistry students endorsed by the Admissions Office: We have sent out the interview invitations to your registered email addresses.

Here is what you need to do next:

Check your inbox: Look for an email from the Chemistry Department regarding your scheduled interview.

*Check your Spam/Junk/Promotions folders: Sometimes, university emails like to conduct their own "chemistry experiments" and accidentally filter themselves out of your main inbox. Make sure to double-check these folders so you don't miss your slot!

*Confirm your slot: Please read the email carefully and follow the instructions to confirm your attendance.

We are incredibly excited to meet the next generation of chemists, researchers, and innovators. Best of luck, and we hope to see you soon! 👋

Elegant yet powerful idea shows that simplicity and creativity matter in science, turning basic building blocks of metals and organic molecules into materials that could transform energy, environment, and industry.

A celebration of chemistry’s beauty in design and purpose.

Congratulations to the 2025 Nobel Prize Awardees!

BREAKING NEWS
The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences has decided to award the 2025 Nobel Prize in Chemistry to Susumu Kitagawa, Richard Robson and Omar M. Yaghi “for the development of metal–organic frameworks.”

The 2025 Nobel Prize laureates in chemistry have created molecular constructions with large spaces through which gases and other chemicals can flow. These constructions, metal–organic frameworks, can be used to harvest water from desert air, capture carbon dioxide, store toxic gases or catalyse chemical reactions.

Kitagawa, Robson and Yaghi have developed a new form of molecular architecture. In their constructions, metal ions function as corner-stones that are linked by long organic (carbon-based) molecules. Together, the metal ions and molecules are organised to form crystals that contain large cavities. These porous materials are called metal–organic frameworks (M*F). By varying the building blocks used in the M*Fs, chemists can design them to capture and store specific substances. M*Fs can also drive chemical reactions or conduct electricity.

“Metal–organic frameworks have enormous potential, bringing previously unforeseen opportunities for custom-made materials with new functions,” says Heiner Linke, Chair of the Nobel Committee for Chemistry.
