The 6th Battle of Bots

Not everyone brought home a trophy, but every ELMIS Robokid gave their best and showed determination, courage, and dedication. Success is a journey, and every competition is a valuable opportunity to learn, grow, and become better.

A heartfelt thank you to NOLITC for giving our students the opportunity to participate in this competition.

Introducing one of the exciting categories of our Robotics Club: Line Tracing!

A line-tracing robot is an autonomous mobile robot designed to detect and follow a predefined path, typically a black line on a white surface or a white line on a black surface. Using sensors and intelligent programming, it continuously adjusts its movement to stay on course with speed and precision.
Though it may seem simple, line tracing combines engineering, programming, and problem-solving skills, making it one of the best ways to learn the fundamentals of robotics. Every turn, correction, and smooth movement is powered by technology working in perfect harmony.

Did you know that some robots can actually make decisions on their own? Using sensors and artificial intelligence, they analyze their surroundings and choose the best action based on the information they collect.

Even more amazing, NASA's Mars rovers can't rely on instant commands from Earth. Since signals take about 5โ€“20 minutes to travel to Mars, these rovers must safely navigate obstacles, plan short routes, and carry out many tasks on their own.

Robo-fact 103: Mars Pathfinder

The first robotic rover to land and operate on Mars was NASA's Sojourner. Arriving aboard the Mars Pathfinder spacecraft, it successfully touched down on July 4, 1997, and rolled onto the Martian surface on July 6, 1997.

Named after the African American abolitionist and women's rights activist Sojourner Truth, the microwave-sized, 23-pound vehicle was initially designed for a 7-day mission but successfully roamed and gathered data for 83 Martian days.

Did you know that The worldโ€™s smallest robot is smaller than a grain of salt?

The tiniest robot in the world is so small you could lose it in a sneeze. Created by engineers at Cornell University, this microscopic robot measures just 2โ€“5 microns wide. Cornell already held the record for the worldโ€™s smallest walking robot at 40โ€“70 microns, but the new model is much smaller than a grain of salt or even a single human hair.

These salt-sized machines are a big deal in the world of medical robotics. Equipped with atom-thin platinum hinges on a diffractive panel and actuated magnetically, these bots can crawl, bend, and squeeze into microscopic spaces.
