𝙈𝙖𝙗𝙪𝙝𝙖𝙮!

The On-the-Job Training (OJT) of the 4th Year BS Tourism Management students is now in its final stretch for Academic Year 2025–2026. The students are currently deployed in their respective tourism and hospitality establishments, gaining valuable hands-on experience in the field.

This milestone would not have been possible without the unwavering support of the current administration, led by Phoebe D. Baluarte, PhD, and Sir Richard Baluarte. We also extend our sincere appreciation to John Erwin P. Abe, MBA-THM (CAR), the OJT Coordinator of the BSTM Department, for successfully endorsing and facilitating the students’ placement in their respective establishments.

Our heartfelt thanks likewise go to the BSTM Department, under the guidance of Jerzen Joyce O. Oyanib, MBA-HRM, CRS, CRDC, for diligently overseeing every detail of the students’ journey. Despite the demanding schedules of the Yuletide season, the department’s unity, teamwork, and dedication continue to shine.

In her administration, she truly portrays a woman with purpose. She's a dedicated leader, always ready to lend a helping hand to her colleagues, and a true pro when it comes to guiding our students. We are all witnesses to her commitment, the dedication that keeps her awake late at night just to ensure all paper works are finished. An optimist, full of sympathy and empathy, which the majority of people around her can testify to.

USAT College Sagay City Inc., Department of BS Tourism Management proudly participated in the 2nd COHREP General Membership Meeting and Seminar 2025 held on October 18, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Sinulog Hall, Citadines Hotel, Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

Representing the Department of BS Tourism Management, Ms. Jerzen Joyce O. Oyanib, MBA-HRM, CRS, CRDC, and esteemed faculty members Ms. Mary Cris T. Lobaton, Mr. John Erwin Abe, MBA-HTM (C), and Mr. John Eduard Alfonso actively participated in the event, contributing to the discussions and sharing their expertise.

The event was a convergence of minds, bringing together hospitality and tourism educators from various schools, universities, and higher education institutions (HEIs) nationwide and myriad experts and professionals from different fields in the tourism and hospitality sectors.

These speakers shared valuable insights on heritage preservation, Negrense cultural identity, sustainable gastronomy, storytelling in tourism, and the empowerment of local communities through culture and tradition. These topics are important to the tourism and hospitality education sector, reflecting the diverse expertise that drives our field forward.

The Department of BS Tourism Management extends its heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Erneflor Papa, LPT, Dean of USAT College, for her leadership and support; to Dr. Phoebe Baluarte, College President, for her continued guidance and inspiration; and to Hon.
