Our Mandate

The Department of Education was established through the Education Decree of 1863 as the Superior Commission of Primary Instruction under a Chairman. The Education agency underwent many reorganization efforts in the 20th century in order to better define its purpose vis a vis the changing administrations and charters. The present day Department of Education was eventually mandated through Republic Act 9155, otherwise known as the Governance of Basic Education act of 2001 which establishes the mandate of this agency. The Department of Education (DepEd) formulates, implements, and coordinates policies, plans, programs and projects in the areas of formal and non-formal basic education. It supervises all elementary and secondary education institutions, including alternative learning systems, both public and private; and provides for the establishment and maintenance of a complete, adequate, and integrated system of basic education relevant to the goals of national development.

🇵🇭 Flag Ceremony | Honoring History, Strengthening Patriotism

In line with the Department of Education's directive, Molocaboc II Elementary School headed by Ma'am Sharon Rose M. Gometon, Teacher-in-Charge, joined the nationwide commemoration of the 2016 South China Sea Arbitration Award during the weekly Flag Ceremony. As we raised our flag with pride, we also reflected on the courage, unity, and resilience that continue to inspire every Filipino.
As part of the ceremony, learners also proudly recited the PEACE and TAG Advocacy, reinforcing the values of discipline, respect, accountability, environmental stewardship, and good citizenship. These advocacies continue to guide our learners in becoming responsible, values-driven, and patriotic Filipinos.
We are equally grateful to our supportive parents who joined us during the ceremony, demonstrating their commitment to fostering patriotism and strengthening the partnership between the school and the community. Together, we continue to nurture learners who value love of country, respect, and responsibility.
