Sagaynon Learners Shine in Robotics Challenge
The 6th Battle of Bots Negros Occidental Robotics Challenge 2026 became more than just a competition for Sagay City’s young innovators. Held on September 12–13 at the NOLITC Campus in Talisay City, the event gathered bright minds from across the province, and Sagay’s delegates proudly carried the banner of creativity, perseverance, and teamwork.
Winners from Sagay City included:
• France Eric M. Dela Cruz of Buenaventura V. Rodriguez Elementary School, coached by Bhinfaint S. Aquino, who emerged as Champion in the Sumobot Elementary Category.
• Amar Ethan Bancoyo of Eusebio Lopez Memorial Integrated School, coached by Matt V. Palo, who secured 2nd Place in Line Tracing Elementary Category.
• Brent Luis C. Hechanova of Alfredo E . Marañon Sr. Elementary School- School of the Future, coached by Rey Magbanua finished 6th in Sumobot.
• Al kyrie O. Carampatana of Alfredo E . Marañon Sr. Elementary School- School of the Future, coached by Rhea Casina finished 6th in Line Tracing.
• Elaiza S. Rabacal of Sagay National High School, coached by Kimberly Joy Ambait, who placed 3rd in Sumobot High School Category.
• Aimer Fhadz C. Bariol of Sagay National High School, coached by Ryan James Coniendo, who finished 4th in Line Tracing High School Category.
• Heinrich Vincze T. Gantes of Sagay National High School, also coached by Ryan James Coniendo, who earned 5th Place in Line Tracing High School Category.
Their efforts reflected the strength of Kabataang Saganon in embracing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
The robotics challenge not only tested technical skills but also encouraged collaboration, perseverance, and creativity among learners. Students applied classroom knowledge in real-world scenarios, strengthening their STEM competencies and preparing them for future careers in science and technology.
The Battle of Bots 2026 stood as a testament to how education inspires young minds to innovate and collaborate.
While winners were recognized at the end of the event, winning was only part of the game. The greater achievement lay in the lessons learned — overcoming challenges, embracing failures, and celebrating teamwork. *
