Greetings of peace and good health!

Bullying is not a new phenomenon in our culture. With the proliferation of users on the Internet starting in the 1990s, traditional bullying took a new form: cyberbullying. While bullying during the pre-internet days was rough, the victim was able to limit interaction with the bully. Going home from school allowed a reprieve from bullying behaviors. However, the Internet has allowed bullies to continually engage in bullying, regardless of the victim’s location. The inability to disconnect from the bully makes cyberbullying a huge mental health risk.

In this light, the St. Camillus Center for Humanization in Health will conduct “ : CYBERBULLYING IN THE AGE OF COVID-19”, a free internet forum and webinar on the impact of cyberbullying on mental health during a pandemic, on July 16, 2021; Friday; 7:00 to 8:00 PM via Zoom. To join, please click this Zoom link --- https://bit.ly/SanaAllSafe. The webinar will also be live-streamed on the following pages: The Camillians, St. Camillus Center for Humanization in Health, and Camillus MedHaven Nursing Home.

The webinar is a contribution of the Camillians, through the St. Camillus Center for Humanization in Health, to promote mental health awareness. Through the webinar, the Camillians hope to help in imparting consciousness on the strong link between cyberbullying and an increased risk for depression, anxiety, su***de, and other stress-related disorders in victims, and in identifying helpful ways to intervene when cyberbullying is observed. Participants to the webinar will also have the opportunity to type in their questions in the Zoom chat box and in the comment section of The Camillians page which will then be conveyed for the speaker to answer.

Resource speaker, Dr. Lisa Anna Marte-Gayoles, RPsy, RGC, psychotherapist and counselor, will discuss the webinar’s topic.

Target participants will be youth and students.

The webinar is for free but for those participants who might want to receive a certificate of attendance after the activity, it is available for a fee: Php 500.00 for hardcopy inclusive of courier service or Php 400.00 for softcopy. Mode of payment is through GCash. For more information on this, please coordinate with Ms. Joli at 09277528720.

Looking forward to your active participation in this webinar.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Fr. John Jay C. Magpusao, MI, RMT, STL

To the Young Who Want to Die

“Sit down. Inhale. Exhale.
The gun will wait. The lake will wait.
The tall gall in the small seductive vial
will wait will wait:
will wait a week: will wait through April.
You do not have to die this certain day.
Death will abide, will pamper your postponement.
I assure you death will wait. Death has
a lot of time. Death can
attend to you tomorrow. Or next week. Death is
just down the street; is most obliging neighbor;
can meet you any moment.

You need not die today.
Stay here–through pout or pain or peskyness.
Stay here. See what the news is going to be tomorrow.

Graves grow no green that you can use.
Remember, green’s your color. You are Spring.”
