SUNN Sagay City Main Campus | December 2, 2025

The series of orientations and training sessions continues as we prepare our graduates for their upcoming OJT this second semester. The session focused on Sexual Harassment in the Workplace, with no less than the GADI Director, Ms. Jackilee A. Anacleto, serving as the resource speaker, joined by Atty. Whyte Roy S. Balicas, our legal expert.

The discussion laid down the legal foundations of RA 7877 – The Anti-Sexual Harassment Act and RA 11313 – The Safe Spaces Act, followed by an engaging and meaningful conversation on real-life cases. These scenarios allowed students to reflect, analyze, and understand the nature of such violations, as well as the appropriate actions to take should they encounter similar situations in the workplace.

While we hope for our students to have a meaningful, exciting, and safe OJT experience, we also believe it is essential that they are fully aware of their rights and protections under the law.

The Career Development and Placement Office extends its deepest gratitude to the University President, Dr. Renante A. Egcas; VP for Academic Affairs, Dr. Judith S. Rabacal; SAS Director, Ritchie F. Balandra; and the rest of the administration for their unwavering support to SUNN students.
We likewise thank the GADI Office and the Legal Office for sharing their time, knowledge, and expertise in empowering our learners.

Our appreciation also goes to our dedicated team of student facilitators, the LASS organization, and students across colleges who poured their enthusiasm and energy—from the preparation of the venue to ensuring the active participation of attendees.

With Session 3 completed, we now look forward to the final session and to offering more learning opportunities. We hope to extend these orientations to other year levels in the future.

To our students: we wish you a brighter future—beyond SUNN and into the world you are preparing to enter.

On November 28, 2025, SUNN Laga-an Campus in Calatrava brought together all 1st to 4th year students for the session “Mental Health in the Workplace,” one of the key components of the Career Development Series of Orientation and Training Sessions 2025.

The discussion placed strong emphasis on self-awareness as a foundation for personal and professional growth. Students were guided through its four key dimensions: internal states, which involve recognizing one’s emotions and thoughts; values and beliefs, which shape motivations and decisions; behavior and actions, which reflect how one responds to situations; and self-reflection and integration, which help individuals make sense of their experiences and align them with their goals. This holistic approach encouraged students to better understand themselves as they prepare to enter future workplaces.

Following the session, students participated in the plebiscite on the University Student Government Constitution and By-Laws, symbolizing Laga-an’s strong support for the transition from the Supreme Student Council to a more empowered and inclusive student government.

In the afternoon, students engaged in a brief mental health assessment, along with hand and face painting activities with Sir Edcel Jan Labrador, as part of the continuing mental health awareness campaign and advocacy.

The entire activity was co-facilitated by the Supreme Student Council, fostering a campus culture that values wellness, participation, and student leadership.
