STEM 12 — AMETHYST | From Chemical Reactions to Real-Life Applications! 🧪

Chemistry is not just for chemists, scientists, or laboratories. It is part of everyday life and the work of farmers, candle makers, bakers, water filtration workers, and many others. Through these booths, STEM 12 Amethyst showcased how chemical reactions and principles connect science to real-life practices—from baking and candle making to water treatment and improving soil for better plant growth. From the kitchen and farm to the water used every day and the candles that light our homes, chemistry is everywhere.

The students proudly presented their Chemistry Exhibit Booths as a performance task for General Chemistry under the guidance of Ma'am Angeline Sumedca

For almost three weeks, the students worked together to plan, design, and prepare their booths. Behind every display were countless hours of teamwork, revisions, and, of course, puyatan para lang matapos ang designs.

The Grade 9 students also played an important part by visiting the booths, listening to the presentations, and taking notes. Their participation made the exhibit more meaningful and gave the Grade 12 STEM students an opportunity to share what they had learned.

More than a performance task, the project became a journey of teamwork, friendship, and bonding. The puyatan, pressure, laughter, and shared responsibilities brought the students closer together.

Three weeks of chemistry became three weeks of teamwork, friendship, puyatan, and collective suffering over designs and deadlines. In the end, the students learned that the best results do not come from one person—they come from everyone working together.

A sincere appreciation goes to Ma’am Angeline for her time, guidance, and patience, as well as to the other teachers who shared their time and allowed the students to work on their booths. Their support helped make the project possible.

Chemistry may have been the subject, but teamwork, friendship, puyatan and pressure were definitely part of the experiment. ✨

11 — AQUAMARINE, GARNET, & MOONSTONE |
What’s new? Take a moment to appreciate the cute, adorable, meaningful, and demure dioramas made by the Grade 11 students from Aquamarine, Garnet, and Moonstone, under the guidance of their subject teacher, Ma’am Danica Ticangen.

With their brilliant minds, creative ideas, and amazing teamwork, they transformed simple materials into miniature masterpieces, proving that great ideas really can fit in a tiny place.

The dioramas showcase the realistic daily livelihoods associated with two geographical terms:

1. Ilaya – The highlands. These are mountainous areas where rivers begin. People living in these areas commonly engage in farming, crop planting, livestock raising, and other upland activities.

2. Ilawod – The lowlands. These areas are located near downstream rivers, coastal areas, and the sea. Common livelihoods include farming, fishing, trading, and boat-related work.

From mountains to lowlands, their dioramas brought these communities to life in miniature form.

They came, they glued, they conquered. 🔥

10 — DIAMOND & EMERALD | EDUCATIONAL FIELD TRIP

On July 16-17, 2026, the Grade 10 students of Sagada National High School, together with their subject teacher, Ma'am Bheztang Calpi Datoc, participated in an Educational Field Trip as part of their Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE) subject. The activity focused on Tour Guiding and the Food and Beverage Industry, providing students with meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom.

The itinerary included visits to the Church of Saint Mary the Virgin, Paytokan Walk, the Underground River, Staunton Road, Sagada Weaving, and House of D's, where students experienced a Banquet/Fine Dining setup and learned proper dining etiquette, food and beverage service standards, and the professionalism expected in the hospitality industry. They also gained valuable insights into local tourism enterprises, tour guiding, entrepreneurship, coffee processing, and outdoor adventure tourism.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our partners and supporters who made this educational journey possible:

House of D's – for warmly hosting the students and providing the venue for the banquet/fine dining experience.
Tal-us Aranduque – for the exciting and memorable rock climbing experience.
Mr. Cyril Cacay – for sharing his expertise on coffee processing.
Msr. Dublyn Langbao – for inspiring our students through his motivational talk on entrepreneurship.
Philippine National Police (PNP) – for ensuring the safety of our students by escorting them on their way home.
