A Community United for a Safe Return to School
August 12, 2026

The rain did not waver the determination of the school’s stakeholders to prepare a safe and welcoming environment for learners as classes are set to resume.

Despite the intermittent weather, parents, barangay officials, and teachers came together in a spirit of bayanihan to clean the school playground, removing accumulated moss and mud that could pose safety hazards to learners.

With willing hands and a shared sense of responsibility, the volunteers worked together to clear the affected areas and make the playground safer and more conducive for school activities. Their dedication showed that even unfavorable weather could not dampen their commitment to the welfare of the learners.

More than just a clean-up activity, the initiative reflected the strong partnership among the school, parents, and the community. United by one goal—to ensure the safety and well-being of every learner—the stakeholders proved that when a community works together, no challenge, not even the rain, can stop them from making a difference.

As the school prepares to welcome learners back, the clean playground stands as a symbol of cooperation, care, and the enduring spirit of bayanihan.

Behind Every Triumph Is a Village Standing Side-by-Side

Behind every milestone, every celebrated achievement, and every step forward in our school community, there is a quiet, powerful force at work. It isn’t always under the bright spotlight—often, it lives in the dedicated hands, steady hearts, and steadfast prayers of a community that refuses to let its children walk alone.

As we look back on our journey, one truth echoes loudest: To God be all the glory, honor, and praise!

This success is not the work of a single person or a isolated team. It is a collective victory, deeply shared with an incredible network of supporters who show up time and time again:

Our ever-devoted Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), teachers, learners, and active 4Ps members, who invest their time and heart into every initiative.

Our local leaders in the Local Government Units (LGUs), who champion our vision.

Our proud Alumni, who never forget where their journeys began.

The essential frontline responders from the Barangay Health Station, Sablan Municipal Police Station (MPS), and Sablan Fire Station, who safeguard our health and peace of mind.

And to every unsung hero, partner, and volunteer whose names may not be listed, but whose impact is forever felt.

Look closely at the photo—at those two women standing nearby. They represent the true spirit of our community.

You may find yourself standing on the sidelines cheering us on, lending strength from behind the scenes, or walking right beside us through every challenge. But no matter where you stand, please know this: you are seen, you are valued, and you are deeply appreciated.

It takes a united village to build a safe, bright, and hopeful future for our learners. Today, as we celebrate this milestone, we honor the steady hands and loving hearts that made it possible.

Psalm 133:1 How good and pleasant it is when God's people live together in unity.

Community Healthcare Workers and BGH Doctors Partner to Champion Safe Schools Under Kaagapay Program

In a joint response to the call for proactive adolescent health and wellness at Jose Gonzales Elementary School, Midwife Samira Sofla representing the Barangay Health Station of Bagong, alongside community doctors from Baguio General Hospital (BGH), led a series of targeted student-welfare initiatives at school.

The collaborative effort began on July 20, 2026 after classes in the afternoon, with the conduct of the HEADSSS assessment - a comprehensive psychosocial evaluation tool used to evaluate adolescents' home life, education, activities, safety, and mental health.

Following the assessment to learners, the medical team held a zumba and short Social and Behavioral Change (SBC) session on July 21, 2026, during the morning flag ceremony.

The activity was spearheaded in direct support of the Kaagapay Program, which focuses on nurturing safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environments for all students.

Addressing the student body, the doctors and healthcare representatives stressed that bullying must never be tolerated. They challenged every learner to reflect on and strictly practice three core actions:
When you think of bullying others — STOP.
When you bully — STOP and CHANGE.
When you are bullied — SPEAK OUT.

Closing their lecture with a message of empathy, the healthcare team reminded students of their daily role in shaping a positive school atmosphere:

"Be the reason why your classmates come to school and smile every day."
