📣 SCHOOL GOVERNANCE COUNCIL (SGC) ELECTION AND ORIENTATION

August 6, 2026 | Katipunan Village Elementary School

Katipunan Village Elementary School successfully conducted its School Governance Council (SGC) Election and Orientation, bringing together parents, teachers, non-teaching personnel, and community stakeholders in support of participatory school governance.

The activity provided an opportunity to elect SGC officers and orient stakeholders on the roles, functions, responsibilities, and importance of the School Governance Council, in accordance with DepEd Order No. 26, s. 2022.

Through active participation, transparency, accountability, and shared responsibility, the SGC continues to strengthen partnerships among stakeholders toward quality education and the best interests of every learner. 🤝📚

🛡️ SCHOOL SAFETY PROTOCOLS

At Katipunan Village Elementary School, the safety and well-being of every learner remains our highest priority.

As part of our strengthened School Safety Protocols, we have implemented:
✅ Routine bag inspections and screening procedures
✅ Use of a handheld metal detector for security checks
✅ Visitor registration through designated logbooks
✅ School watch station at the entrance gate
✅ Safety information and emergency protocol signage
✅ Continuous monitoring by our dedicated school watchmen and personnel

These proactive measures help ensure a safe, secure, and child-friendly learning environment for all learners, personnel, parents, and visitors. Together, through vigilance, cooperation, and shared responsibility, we continue to foster a school where every child can learn with confidence and peace of mind.

Katipunan Village Elementary School successfully conducted the Orientation on Learners' Rights and Protection Measures Prior to the Conduct of an Active Shooter Drill. The activity equipped our learners with essential knowledge on their rights, personal safety, and the appropriate actions to take before, during, and after emergency situations.

Through interactive discussions and active participation, our learners gained a deeper understanding of the RUN, HIDE, FIGHT, and SURRENDER protocols while reinforcing the importance of staying calm, alert, and cooperative during emergencies. The orientation also emphasized respect, responsibility, and shared accountability in creating a safe and secure learning environment.

We extend our sincere appreciation to our school personnel, teachers, and learners for their active participation and commitment to promoting a culture of preparedness and safety.

Katipunan Village Elementary School successfully conducted an Earthquake Drill to strengthen disaster preparedness and promote a culture of safety among learners and school personnel. Through the proper ex*****on of the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure and orderly evacuation practices, the school reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the safety and resilience of the entire school community.
