We welcomed the school year with a solemn Mass, followed by fun games and activities that filled the day with laughter and energy.

One of the special moments was recognizing our 𝟙𝟘 𝕖𝕒𝕣𝕝𝕪 𝕓𝕚𝕣𝕕 𝕤𝕥𝕦𝕕𝕖𝕟𝕥𝕤 —rewarded by the Sports Club for their eagerness and discipline, truly reflecting the Salettinian spirit.

This is only the beginning of new friendships, fresh journeys, and vibrant experiences ahead at LSRC!

Teachers' Day Celebration 2024

Joy and appreciation filled the atmosphere as LSRC College celebrated Teacher's Day with enthusiasm.

The event also showcased a Spoken Word Poetry competition and a Quiz Bee.

As we celebrate the teacher’s day with the theme 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐞𝐬 (𝐺𝑢𝑟𝑜: 𝐴𝑛𝑔 𝑀𝑎𝑔𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑛𝑎 𝐵𝑎𝑦𝑎𝑛𝑖).

We are excited to announce the first activity of the College Sports Club in collaboration with SEC—The Spoken Word Poetry.

This will be the way to celebrate and give an appreciation to all educators out there. We are thrilled and excited to this kind of celebration.

𝙶𝚞𝚒𝚍𝚎𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚎𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙼𝚎𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚒𝚌𝚜:

1. 𝑪𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆 𝑬𝒅𝒖𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒔 𝑻𝒉𝒓𝒐𝒖𝒈𝒉 𝑶𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚
The spoken word piece must be an original creation centered around the theme of Teacher’s Day – 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐞𝐬 (𝐺𝑢𝑟𝑜: 𝐴𝑛𝑔 𝑀𝑎𝑔𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑛𝑎 𝐵𝑎𝑦𝑎𝑛𝑖).

2. 𝑯𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒎𝒆
Entries should reflect the essence of Teacher’s Day, conveying gratitude, respect, and admiration. Contestants are encouraged to explore personal experiences, untold stories, or unique perspectives that elevate the importance of educators. Content should be thought-provoking, inspiring, and resonate with audiences of all ages.

3. 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒔
To ensure equitable representation from each department, we invite two participants from every department to showcase their talents. Please submit the names of your chosen representatives to the designated department representatives listed below:

•Mr. Ar-jay G. Ologenio - Department of Business Administration (BSBA)
•Ms. Nicole Angela H. Urbano - Departments of Information Technology (BSIT) & Information Systems (BSAIS)

Kindly finalize the list of participants promptly. Please let the names of your participants know as soon as possible.

4. 𝑺𝒖𝒃𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔
Contestants must submit a copy of their spoken word piece with their chosen music to Ms. Herschel H. Pardua (Sports Club Vice-Chairperson) a day before the competition, either as a printed document or via email ([email protected]).

5. 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝑬𝒏𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔
Background music, sound effects, or subtle instrumentals are permitted if they complement the piece and enhance the delivery. However, the emphasis should remain on the spoken words, ensuring the use of any sound or music remains secondary.

6. 𝑻𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝑳𝒊𝒎𝒊𝒕
Performances must be within four (4) to five (5) minutes from start to finish. Exceeding the allotted time will result in point deductions.

7. 𝑨𝒕𝒕𝒊𝒓𝒆
Wear attire that matches your poem’s theme, feels comfortable and allows movement while keeping it simple and expressive. Choose neutral colors that won’t distract from your message, and ensure your outfit reflects your personal style.

We encourage students to participate in this competition. This will broaden your knowledge and information about education.

𝙶𝚞𝚒𝚍𝚎𝚕𝚒𝚗𝚎𝚜 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝙼𝚎𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚒𝚌𝚜:

The Quiz Bee will be played by teams from different departments, with 2 participants per department only. The representatives will register using the form provided by the Sports Club officer. The quizmaster will provide all details and explain the guidelines for the contest. The winners (1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place) of the Quiz Bee will receive a cash prize.

𝑨. 𝑻𝒆𝒂𝒎 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏
1.Two members from each department will take part in the game.
2.The two representatives will work together as a team.

𝑩. 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝑪𝒐𝒎𝒑𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏
1.The competition consists of 3 stages categorized by difficulty. 𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲, 𝐀𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝.
2.Each round will have 5 questions.

𝑪. 𝑺𝒄𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝑺𝒚𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒎
1.Easy: 1 point per correct answer
2.Average: 3 points per correct answer
3.Hard: 5 points per correct answer

𝑫. 𝑺𝒄𝒐𝒑𝒆 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒆
1.Questions will focus on general knowledge.

𝑬. 𝑸𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑷𝒓𝒐𝒄𝒆𝒅𝒖𝒓𝒆
1.The quizmaster will read each question twice.
2.After the quizmaster reads the question twice, participants will write their answers on a whiteboard after the quizmaster signals them to answer.
3.Time limits for answering questions:

𝐄𝐚𝐬𝐲: 10 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬
𝐀𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞: 20 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬
𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝: 30 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬

4.When the sound rings, participants must raise their boards. Failure to raise the board will result in the answer not being recognized.
5.Correct answers will be awarded the intended points (refer to Section C: Scoring System).

𝑭. 𝑫𝒆𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑾𝒊𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔
1.In the event of a tie after the difficult round, a clincher round will be initiated to determine the leading team.
2.The team with the highest score after the difficult level will be declared the winner of the event.
