The week commenced with a prayer and the Flag Raising Ceremony, fostering unity, patriotism, and a renewed commitment to dedicated service.
During the ceremony, Dr. John Paul D. Reloj read the message of the University President Dr. Venzon L. Limpiada, emphasizing the Universityโs continued commitment to excellence and service.

To our university officials, administrative staff, faculty from all colleges and campuses our recognized associations, and our dear students โ good morning, and welcome to today's flag ceremony.
I am pleased to share a summary of our university's key milestones and engagements over the past two weeks. From September 14 to 25, our collective efforts centered on strengthening our academic foundation, expanding strategic partnerships, and securing the resources vital to our university's growth.
On the local and internal front, we advanced several institutional priorities: we began alpha testing, with our MIS team, of the digital processes for our upcoming Online Clearance System; conducted our 2nd Management Committee and PMT meetings; and evaluated several ongoing infrastructure developments.
We also expanded our reach through new international and local partnerships โ signing MOUs with Kahe University in India and with DITO Telecommunity, alongside key engagements with the Civil Service Commission, DOST, IPO, NCMF, and local municipal leaders from Linapacan, Narra, and Coron. Our community likewise demonstrated its commitment to environmental responsibility through the Baywalk Coastal Cleanup.
On the national stage, I spent the second week representing Palawan State University in Metro Manila for our FY 2027 budget deliberations, attending the pre-plenary and plenary hearings on the SUC budget in the House of Representatives, as well as the pre-plenary budget hearing in the Senate. I am pleased to report that our SUC budget โ including our proposed PHP 1 billion allocation for 2027 โ was favorably endorsed in these hearings.
As we now move into midterm examinations and our Institutional Accreditation orientation with AACCUP, these national developments position us well to support our expanding academic programs and infrastructure.
Looking ahead to this week, we continue this momentum: our ISO External Audit runs from today through Thursday; we host the CHR-led HIV Orientation and sign a MOA with the DILG tomorrow; we engage with the UP Resilience Institute; and we take part in regional and national forums, including the STIRDC Strategic Planning session today, a committee I chair.
On a proud note, PalawanSU ranked 7th nationwide in the September 2026 Social Workers Licensure Exam with a 97.06% passing rate, producing 66 new RSWs and two topnotchers: Kate Ember Rana Manlavi (6th) and Iris Luba Alegre (9th).
Please note that today, September 28, is a Wellness Break following Midterm Exam Week with no classesโthough regular schedules apply to our Integrated Laboratory Schools. Additionally, under Memorandum Circular No. 136 for National Family Week, work is suspended starting at 1:00 PM today for Kainang Pamilya Mahalaga Day. Finally, please mark your calendars for next Monday, October 5, as we observe the World Teachers' Day holiday with suspended classes and meetings to honor our dedicated faculty.
