BS Psychology alumna Sophia Gwyneth Andres shared her experiences in Japan as a resource speaker during the ASEAN+3 Language and Culture Program, held virtually on August 6 as part of ISAT U’s ASEAN Month 2026 celebration.

Andres discussed her experiences as a delegate to the ACUCA International Student Camp last year and encouraged students to engage in international communities that promote inclusion, diversity, and awareness.

𝗜𝗖𝗬𝗠𝗜 | Filamer Christian University, Inc. welcomed more than 1,200 first-year and transferee students through its General Orientation, Mental Health, and Psychosocial Support Program spearheaded by the Guidance and Counselling Center, alongside with FCU Psyche, Peer Facilitators, and FCUSR on August 5 at the FCU Gym.

Through the program, the event introduced students to university support services, policies, and personnel before engaging them in activities promoting mental health, psychosocial well-being, and positive student relationships, while also setting the tone for a meaningful and supportive start to their Filamerian journey.

UNIVERSITY | ISAT-U features FCU alumna in ASEAN Celeb

Filamer Christian University, Inc. BS Psychology alumna Sophia Gwyneth Andres shared her experiences in Japan as a resource speaker during the ASEAN+3 Language and Culture Program, part of the ASEAN Month 2026 celebration of the Iloilo Science and Technology University (ISAT U), held August 6.

Andres was invited to speak about her stay in Japan as a delegate to the ACUCA International Student Camp last year.

“It has been wonderful recalling my journey in Japan, the places I explored, and the meaningful experiences I had there. I feel privileged to express my gratitude to the university that granted me the opportunity to see the world through a lens focused on growth and learning,” Andres said.

She also encouraged fellow Filamerians to take part in international activities, particularly those that promote positive causes and advocacies.

“Engage yourselves with international communities because we need inclusion, diversity and awareness,” Andres added.

The ASEAN+3 Language and Culture Program was held virtually via Zoom and streamed on the ISAT U page, bringing together participants from various countries and institutions to celebrate languages, cultures, and regional connections.
