This December, LRNHS promotes Obedience as the Virtue of the Month.
Obedience means listening with respect, following what is right, and trusting the guidance of those who care for us.

At home, Jia had always been a bright and determined student. She rarely missed a day in school and believed that dedication meant showing up..no matter what.
One Morning, Jia woke up sick, head aching, body weak, barely able to stand. Her mother, worried and gentle, placed a hand on her forehead and said, “Anak, please stay home and rest. School can wait, but your wellbeing can’t.”

Jia shook her head. “Ma, I can’t miss my lessons. I’ll be fine.”
Even though she felt worse with every step, she still prepared for school.

Her mother watched with heavy eyes. She knew her daughter’s intentions were good, but disobedience even when done with determination can still lead us to harm. When Jia reached school, her teacher immediately noticed how pale she looked and called home.

Later that day, as her mother arrived to fetch her, Jia finally understood.
Obedience isn’t about control.
It’s about care.
It’s about trusting the people who want the best for us.
And sometimes the bravest thing we can do is to pause, listen, and follow what is right even when we insist we can push through.

That moment became a reminder for everyone:
Obedience is not blind compliance.
It is choosing to do what protects, nurtures, and guides us toward what truly matters.

At LRNHS, we choose obedience.

This November, LRNHS promotes Honesty as the Virtue of the Month.
Honesty means standing for the truth, being fair, and doing what is right even when it’s uncomfortable.

At a company, Krista is someone everyone could rely on, she is hardworking and sincere. She has never really asked for praise but her dedication spoke for her.

She's timid but worked late and her dedication never went unnoticed. She won awards, earned exemptions for her consistency, and became the kind of employee everyone admired. So when a promotion opened up, everyone was sure it was hers.

But when the announcement came, it wasn’t Krista’s name they heard it was Aisla’s. The same Aisla who often missed deadlines and barely put in the effort. The office went quiet. Everyone know what it truly meant but no one dared to say it out loud.

Until one day a coworker finally did. “It is strange how the ones who work the hardest still have to prove themselves than those who are simply favored.”
The words hit deep.
The manager paused and for the first time, saw the truth.

Fairness has been replaced by favoritism.

And that moment, that very moment was a wake up call for everyone in that company. Honesty is not just about telling the truth. It’s about having the courage to speak it, most especially when staying silent means letting injustice win. And injustices should never be tolerated.

At LRNHS, we choose honesty.
