Strengthened Technical-Vocational Education Program (STVEP) SY 2024–2025 to Present

The Strengthened Technical-Vocational Education Program (STVEP) at Capiz National High School was officially launched in School Year 2024–2025, marking a new chapter in values-driven, ICT-based education for junior high school learners.

One of the most vibrant highlights of the National TEC-VOC Day celebration at Capiz National High School under the STVEP program was the E-Poster Making activity. This creative showcase empowered learners to fuse digital artistry. Through each poster, students expressed their understanding of vocational excellence, community relevance, and the transformative power of technology in education. It was more than a contest—it was a celebration of identity, imagination, and the future of Tech-Voc learning.

One of the highlight during the National TEC-VOC Day celebration at Capiz NHS for STVEP is the Typing Speed Showdown, a friendly yet competitive event for Grade 7 and Grade 8 students. This annual contest celebrates:
⌨️ Speed and accuracy in keyboarding
🏅 Learner confidence and digital fluency
🤝 Camaraderie and healthy competition

The most recent winners achieved impressive net typing speeds of:

🥇 1st Place --- 84 WPM

🥈 2nd Place --- 78 WPM

🥉 3rd Place ---- 73 WPM

Effectiveness of Two Keyboarding Instructional Approaches on the Keyboarding Speed, Accuracy, and Technique (Giroux, et. Al., 2019). These results reflect exceptional keyboarding proficiency for junior high school learners. A net speed of 84 words per minute indicates advanced typing skill, typically seen in senior-level students or professionals. Speeds of 78 and 73 WPM demonstrate strong accuracy, focus, and consistent practice—key indicators of STVEP’s success in fostering digital literacy and learner confidence.

Now a signature tradition at Capiz NHS, the Typing Speed Showdown reflects STVEP’s mission to empower students through technology, while honoring the school’s commitment to excellence, integrity, and cultural authenticity.
